    Interview With Fashion Designer Wang Peiyi

    There is bound to be a lot of adjustment in the design from the high point to the ready-made clothes. The reporter interviewed Wang Peiyi, who has just held a "show of the Vatican color" clothing show.



       Reporter: what is the theme of this show? Where does the inspiration come from?


    It is Van Gogh's "starry sky". In fact, this painting has seen many times before. Even when I saw the authentic works in New York, I didn't feel much too much. But before I saw a circle of friends, I made a speech with this picture. It suddenly had a special agreement. It was echoed with many thoughts in my mind at that time. For example, the main colors of this series were refined from it, and several fabrics were also designed according to its brush strokes and color matching. The biggest difference of this design may be in the profile, because before making the high definition design, many friends told me, "you are really a person who loves women's lines very much." Wang Peiyi: the theme is "Ying fan color", the source of inspiration. But this is the clothing show, I used a lot of A profile and H profile, because it is more practical and more modern.


       Reporter: you have decided to make clothes as the main show. Why is there such a change? What do you think is the difference between making clothes and making high marks? What is the most difficult thing for you to adjust?


    Wang Peiyi: there will be a lot of adjustment in design, more pragmatism and more subtraction. In fact, I think that whether I design clothes or dress is to the same audience, but the occasion is different, and it is easier for everyone to accept.


       Reporter: what you heard about this big show is all professionals from abroad. What kind of consideration is it?


    Wang Peiyi: actually, before the big show in Milan, although the process is very tangled, but the final effect is very good, so I realized that if you find the most professional people to do, not only can save a lot of heart, but also can get better results, and I think this will help me to go abroad in the future market, so this time I invited the French Stylist Benjiamin Armand to come to help him, he is also the first time to come to China, very enthusiastically into.


    Reporter: you have done many cross-border cooperation with many brands, such as SWAROVSKI How can Absolut Vodka attract the favor of these brands?


    Wang Peiyi: how can I attract them? I can't really answer them, because they are the ones who have been looking for me. For example, SWAROVSKI, I have worked with them for many years, because people who know me know that my design likes to use crystal, that shiny feeling, including this show, they also provide many crystal support. This year, I am also honored to take part in SWAROVSKI's Runway Rocks Porject. It has been going on for 10 years, and is also the first to come to China and chose four Chinese designers to cooperate. At the same time, I also worked with them to Atelier Swarovski's jewelry series. It is also my first real jewelry design attempt.


       Reporter: your show is always sparkling. What guests will be invited this time?


    Wang Peiyi: actually those people, some fashion circle friends, some star friends, and some future partners. Sometimes the show is a big party. Friends who have not seen you for a long time can take the opportunity to reunite.


       Reporter: now a lot of Chinese designers are walking the high fixed line. The older generation of Zhang Zhifeng, Guo Pei, the new generation of Laurence Xu, qimgang, you yourself have been taking the high road since their debut, but objectively from the designer's point of view, do you think China's fashion industry is really ready for advanced customization?


    Wang Peiyi: actually, I only sell clothes in the form of "Gao Ding". In recent years, my guests have been increasing, but it is really because of the time, energy and money that they spend, they are destined to be small and can not become mainstream.


      Interviewer: how do you define your audience?


    Wang Peiyi: my audience is generally more fashionable women, about 30 years old, have more mature aesthetics, like me, love life, have love for themselves, understand the real meaning of fashion not only external, but to their inner feelings. .


      Reporter: you once said that you want to make your brand into a comprehensive kingdom. All the product lines such as clothing, Menswear, accessories and so on are all available. So what are the biggest challenges you face at this stage?


    Wang Peiyi: it must be. Ready-made clothes The development may have some decorative effects in order to show the effect, but to do some subtraction, it can be worn in daily life. This season's design I also added some accessories design, bags, shoes and so on, but the biggest challenge in 2014 is how to make the finished garments well, and others need long-term planning.


       Reporter: what kind of sales way do you make your clothing line now?


       Alex Wang Now, the two roads are in progress, but I think the Chinese buyer's department store has just started, such as Lian Crawford and Joyce, but they are only in these big cities in Shanghai, Beijing. They are not very mature. Their store mode must have more advantages, but it is not too early to say that it is too early.


       Reporter: is the survival space of independent designer brand limited in China? Have you ever considered working with a buyer's shop?


    Wang Peiyi: in fact, this is the problem of China's industrial chain is not perfect. We all have to fight alone, and even have no successful experience to learn from it. Now many people say that Chinese designers go to the international arena and go abroad to do shows. But actually, a person of two people is really useless. I have also been to Milan to run a show, and feedback comments are good, but are they helpful to the actual long-term development? I just add an experience and see a height. In the final analysis, China's entire fashion industry has not yet been perfected, and its personal strength is very small.


       Reporter: many independent designer brands abroad are bought by luxury group. Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing?


    Wang Peiyi: I don't know much about this. I don't have much right to speak, but from the designer's point of view, especially the starting designer is more advantageous than the disadvantages, because it will give you a lot of support, including the support of the whole management team, designers can focus on their own creativity, do not worry about others, and now many excellent designer brands are bought by those large luxury groups. Only if you have talent, you will be seen, get help, and then have room for development. I feel good.
