The correctness, repeatability and stability of the XJ128 tester in length, strength, uniformity, and micron index were basically the same as those of HVI1000, and slightly different from HVI1000 in color and impurity indicators. The information system software of the XJ128 tester meets the requirements of the instrument test; the speed of the whole test of the XJ128 tester has been improved, and the instrument has not undergone any major failure during the supplementary verification test, and the calibration and calibration process is smooth. In view of the test situation, it is suggested that the public inspection laboratory should start the simulation test run to further investigate the durability of the machine. As the XJ128 color board is calibrated with single block, the experimental quantity of low grade cotton should be expanded to further confirm the adaptability of XJ128 color module to low grade cotton.

After further improvement of XJ128 in Changling spinning and weaving company, China Fiber Inspection Bureau organized three sets of XJ128 in three months and a half months in Anhui Hefei and Xinjiang laboratories to verify the results. The reliability of the long term operation of the instruments in the actual inspection environment was mainly investigated, and the adaptability of low grade cotton samples was verified. The test results showed that the coincidence rate of XJ128 indexes was close to that of the Bureau, but the overall was low. The color test results of low grade samples showed that Rd was similar to that of ordinary samples, but there were some differences between +b. The communication between XJ128 and information system server is basically normal, and the test speed is lower than HVI1000. It is suggested to further improve the spare parts, testing software and structural layout of the instrument, so as to improve the durability, ease of use and testing speed of XJ128.

By the end of October 2013, 23 XJ128 laboratories were allocated to 18 cotton laboratory testing laboratories. At present, the speed of testing is comparable to that of HVI1000, the data communication of information system is smooth, the quality of domestic parts is steadily improved, and the number and technical level of after-sales service team are also constantly strengthening. After three years of small scale application, the domestic cotton comprehensive measuring instrument has proved that it is able to meet the needs of practical work of cotton instrument inspection. At the same time, the domestic cotton comprehensive measuring instrument has advantages in selling price, spare parts and after-sales service cost, and provides favorable conditions for the popularization of the instrument inspection work of cotton.

Although the use of XJ128 fast cotton fiber in the instrument inspection of cotton has taken an important step in the localization of cotton inspection instruments, XJ128 still has differences with the imported HVI in terms of new functions such as color measuring light source, automatic cloning equipment, etc., and the Bureau will further coordinate the Changling textile and electric company, improve the XJ128 design, and improve the quality and level of the instrument inspection of cotton. With the improvement and wide application of XJ128 quality, the domestic HVI will play an increasingly important role in the instrument inspection of cotton in China, and become a necessary part of the smooth development of the cotton quality inspection system reform.
