about Designer
In 2010, Mao Xin Zhi Cingel Mao graduated from the Raffles School of design at Donghua University (Raffles Design Institute) and worked as an assistant designer in two independent fashion design companies. After three years of hard work in this industry, Mao Xin's desire for expression is more and more intense. In June 2013, she set up her own independent design brand Freak Beat. The definition of brand is very simple. It is good for like-minded people. clothes 。
Q: first, let's talk about the design inspiration of this new series released in Shanghai fashion week.
A: all the inspiration comes from an old rock and roll song of 60s, Born to be wild. Get your motor running and head head, and you can take your speed, free and easy running on any road of life. Regardless of direction, no matter whether there are wolf or gold and silver on the road. With fearless and indifferent heart, you can play with your life with more hesitation and more panic. You are a small loser. Freak Beat girls live in a reinforced concrete city, still have a restless wild heart. Nothing is more fascinating to them than freedom.
Q: we can see that this exhibition is very personal, but at the same time it has some elegant elements in it. Why is it so contradictory?
A: because I am half normal, half crazy. So my design is the same, sometimes it will be very contradictory. But I just like this kind of state very much. I always feel tired after holding it, and I always lose my mind, so I present this state. Likes freedom, likes individuality, should move to be quiet, do whatever one likes.
Q: is this kind of avant-garde design more popular with "returnees"?
A: I think no matter where you come from, you can wear it if you like. Maybe the acceptance of foreign students will be higher, because they are more OPEN.
Q: there seems to be a sense of space technology and some retro flavor in color. What is the reason for this?
A: I set up this brand at that time, hoping to bring you back to the age of retro, with a sense of high technology in 50s. I think people of that era were very fashionable. At that time, a series of scientific research inventions made people imagine many things in outer space. The metallic luster will make you fantasize about space and fantasize about futurism.
Q: do you particularly like the sense of technology fantasy in 50s?
A: I think the technology is too developed now. Many of the answers have been revealed. You know too much, but it limits your imagination. In fact, people are most imaginative when they are half understood, though they are not necessarily correct, but they must be wonderful.
Q: in your design, you seldom see money for self cultivation. Why?
A: because I don't like that special woman very much. I like not to feel tender and unaffected. So I will choose a more neat profile and cut, so I will not do that kind of special training, generally choose the large profile. I think sexy doesn't have to wrap your curves very tight. Sexy is revealed in some small details, such as the hollow of the waist, the feeling of shoulder sticking out the clavicle.
Q: Fashion Show After the end, you have been saying that there are many deficiencies in this work. Few people admit their shortcomings so frankly and frankly. Why is "black"?
A: I can't hide my feelings about where my heart is spent and how much I spend. There are four or five of them. I really don't think much of my flowers. When you come out, you only feel that there are no other clothes strong, so I have some regrets. Take a cut and grow wiser. Next time you will know what to do. I will spend more time next time to fight a beautiful battle.
Q: is there any outline of the next plan?
A: I am really a very casual person. I will not limit myself to what I must do next. What kind of inspiration inspired me?
