Xi'An Quality Supervision Bureau: 16 Batches Of Gem Stones Sampling Failed

On the eve of "eleven", the Xi'an quality and Technical Supervision Bureau conducted a supervision and spot check on the quality of jade jewelry products, and sampled 46 batches of samples. 30 batches of samples were tested and the qualified rate of physical objects was 65.2%.

The inspection unit is the Xi'an product quality supervision and Inspection Institute.

The inspection items for jewellery and jewellery include: naked eye observation (color, shape), magnifying inspection, refractive index, optical property, polychromatic, absorption spectrum, quality and naming.

The inspection items for precious metal inlaid ornaments include: identification of jewellery and jade (including naked eye observation, magnifying examination, refractive index, optical property, polychromatic, absorption spectrum, quality), purity, imprint, label and naming.

The results show that the main problem is that the names of jewellery and jade are wrong or non-standard, accounting for 91.6% of all unqualified samples.

Such as: the serpentine bracelet is marked as "Moyu" bracelet, while "Moyu" is specifically referred to in the national standard and Tian Yu; the glass ball is named "crystal ball"; the bleaching, filling and dyeing treatment of jade pendant is labeled as "Emerald" pendant; and the epidote and Ruby Necklace are labeled as "necklace of fine necklace".

According to the quality supervision department, there are clear provisions on the naming and national standards of gemstones.

Enterprises can not be named by common or casual names, nor can they use low-grade jade to pretend to be high-grade jade, otherwise they will be judged to be unqualified.
