Us NO.2 Retailer Costco Enters Tmall
Costco, the second largest retailer in the US, and Alibaba group Tmall international today announced strategic cooperation.
Costco will open its official flagship store in Tmall, and enter the Chinese market from food and health products.
In the future, Costco will also promote more online retail brands in China to enrich the brand, category and quantity of Tmall international flagship store.
For example, a standard 1200mg*180 pellet Kirkland Signature Kirkland deep sea fish oil soft capsule is priced at 89 yuan at Costco Tmall international official flagship store, which is almost half the price of the world-famous brand of health care brand and the lowest price of Costco in China's whole network channel, which is more favorable than Taobao purchase and all other formal import channels.
Costco is a member supermarket in the United States, but there is no restriction on membership on Tmall. The products that were originally open to members can be purchased on Tmall international, especially its flagship Kirkland brand.
Costco will also take part in Ali's annual double eleven shopping carnival. According to the double eleven logo, some half off of the products will be launched on the same day.

Costco hopes to find a quick cut through the Tmall international to develop China's consumer market.

Alibaba group COO Zhang Yong welcomed the entry of Costco.
He believes that the business mode of Tmall's international innovation will open up the order information, payment information and logistics information to electronic customs ports of China Customs, so that with the support of the Chinese government, the cross-border retail import of consumer goods will be expanded, giving consumers a better cross-border shopping experience.
Wu Qian, general manager of international B2C division, said: "with the gradual development of deep cooperation with Tmall international, Tmall international will gradually help Costco docking.
