    Interview With Dong Wenmei, "The Twentieth China Top Ten Fashion Designer"

    In November 2014, at the Mercedes Mercedes - China International Fashion Week 2014 annual awards ceremony, China pioneered the founder and design director of the brand of children and children's clothing T100, Dong Wenmei was named the twentieth "China top ten fashion designers".

    After more than ten years of persistence, the T100 harvest is moved. What kind of moving stories and feelings are there behind the honor? After the fashion week, the organizing committee reporter interviewed Ms. Dong Wenmei to review her mental journey of establishing the brand T100 of children's wear.


    As the only child dress designer of Mercedes Benz China International Fashion Week (2015 spring summer series), Dong Wen Mei has won the "Twentieth China top ten fashion designers".

    Dong Wenmei and her children's clothing brand T100 have participated in the two China International Fashion Week continuously. At the present China International Fashion Week conference site, the thick parent-child warmth atmosphere caused many audiences to be moved to tears.


    Dong Wenmei, from Chongqing, worked as a doctor in her early years. In 2003, she formally entered the field of children's wear. She began her own pioneering career and launched her own children's fashion. Now she is the chairman of T100's children's clothing brand.

    As an excellent representative of Chinese fashion design circles, Dong Wenmei has been invited to visit the United States and Germany on many occasions.

     

    Q: in the selection of China Fashion Awards, you won the "Twentieth China top ten fashion designers". What was your mood at that time?


    Dong Wenmei: I am very grateful to the China Fashion Designers Association for setting up such a communication platform for designers. I believe many designers, like me, cherish this opportunity to display and interact.


    To win this award, personally, I am quite moved. I feel that I have gained many years of persistence and I can get the prize in the second year of the China International Fashion week. I didn't think about it before I went to the stage. It was the result of everyone's encouragement and support. I feel very relieved.

     

     

    Q: what do you think is unique about your work? What do you think is a good parent design?


    Dong Wenmei: a good work must reflect its ideas and significance.

    For children's designers, how to embody children's innocence, romance and childlike tastes is particularly important.


    Good design stems from many years of adhered to the design concept.

    T100 has been working for many years to create an elite family lifestyle for a 3-16 year old family.

    When designing parent-child dress, I advocate integrating the concepts of parent-child culture, parent-child fashion, and so on. We design a matching scheme for parents' children's clothing in all scenes of life.

    When you go out to play, you can wear casual clothes with your parents, grandparents, and grandparents. When attending formal occasions, parties and dinner parties, wearing a family dress is actually a manifestation of dress etiquette and a display of family honor.

     

    Q: when did you embark on the road of fashion design? Why do you change your clothes design when you are a medical student? How did your previous experience in medicine affect your costume design?


    Dong Wenmei: after my graduation from Medical University Of Chongqing, my experience in medicine made me feel deeply about my life.

    Seeing the fragility of life and the difficulty of the birth of new life in the hospital, let me cherish my life more and treasure every child who comes to this world like an angel.

    So I decided to do something that I was interested in from my childhood to give my life back, that is clothing design.


    My experience in medicine led me to think in a rigorous and rational way.

    Inspiration is very important in design, but it also needs rational thinking mode.

    In my parent-child brand, I use classical aesthetics and precise tailoring as the conceptual benchmark, with family appeal as the demand, and build the emotional atmosphere of parent-child clothing with the spirit of harmony and unity of style, fabric and color, pforming people's desire and dream of family to an image of children's clothes and clothes that is full of fun, knowledge and quality.

    In addition, guiding children to establish social elite values and world outlook is my dream of designing innovative paternity culture.

     

    Q: what do you think of the relationship between clothing design and market?


    Dong Wenmei: clothing design achievement is a brand.

    The most important thing for me to participate in China Fashion Week is not whether individuals can win the design awards, but to let everyone remember the brand of T100, because the attention and value of a brand directly affect its market competitiveness, so I think the market depends on design and design needs market orientation.


    Over the years, in the face of the media, I have always said that T100 is a brand to create a warm family. We do not pursue noble and colourful, but hope to bring the children a happy and happy feeling.

    In this year's China Fashion Week, I see many brands of garment designs are getting more and more popular. I think this is very good and better able to meet the needs of terminal consumers.


    Q: what do you think of the changes in the China Fashion Week and the past? What are the expectations and expectations for the future fashion week?


    Dong Wenmei: this stage of China International Fashion Week is indeed a place to show the charm of the brand. I noticed that this year's fashion week has created many historical events. A total of 83 designers participated in the release, and 44 new designers came to the stage for the first time. This shows that we are paying more and more attention to original design. Our designers are also getting bigger and bigger and can be gathered with so many excellent designers. I feel very happy.


    In the future, I will continue to pay attention to China International Fashion week.

    I think Chinese brands should stand up, sell themselves to others, and allow others to identify themselves, so that brands can go deeper and longer, which is more consistent with the direction of our Chinese brand efforts.
