Through his hands, all kinds of leather with different colors were made into a pair of exquisite ones.

And his 75 year old father, Abdul Qatar, guided his son to make every effort to refine every needle and line.

    Abdusky Kul was born.

Family, his father's father was engaged in

    Making business.

Under such circumstances, Abdusky Kul has also become an excellent hand-made leather shoe craftsman.

In his hand-made leather shoes shop, the oven and the stage occupied the most part of the house, and dim light drilled into the house from the open door, putting a classical veil over the furnishings inside the house.

The whole cottage was extraordinarily quiet. Only Abdusky Kul had worn leather and needles to pass through the leather.

But every piece of leather piled in the house, the scissors, cutting knives and shoe last shoes needed to make leather shoes are telling us about the rise and fall of hand-made craft.

    Memories of my fathers

Speaking of the leather industry in Yili, we must mention the wood Sha Ba Fu leather factory.

According to records of the Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Yili's modern leather industry started in 1880s. By the middle of nineteenth Century, the production of Western and Russian capitalist industries was developing rapidly, leather making technology was improving, and many parts of Xinjiang were still very closed. A large number of surplus livestock products were exported to Russia through cheap border ports, and then pported to Europe by Russian businessmen.

At that time, the policy of keeping the country closed was broken by the imperialist powers of the West. Some of the waking Chinese businessmen and officials began to set up the national industry.

Musabaye J, a wealthy merchant in Yili, set up a leather factory in 1885. The site was located at Takahashi Ko near the general office of Huiyuan, which was then called "wood Sabah leather factory".

In 1909, Yushan Bayi, the eldest son of Mucha, began to carry out large-scale technological pformation, bought the complete equipment of German de la he leather tannery, entrusted Russian businessmen to build factories in different places in Yili, Ning Yuancheng (now Yining), and invited a large number of German leather engineering technicians and technicians to teach technology in factories.

Referring to Bayi, Abdusky Kul's father Abu DAL QAR is still fresh. This year, Abu DAL QAR, 75, recalls that his father had worked as a short-term worker in the Bayi leather factory in Yushan. When he was young, every night when he came to night, his father would sit at the side of the canal near his home and tell him about the deeds of Bayi in Yushan.

Every time I mention the advanced equipment, number and popularity of the Yushan Bayi tannery, my father is always proud.

He told Abdou Kadar that Bayi was their hero in Yushan and fought for the leather technology of the Chinese people.

Later, Abu Kadar's father began to think about making hand-made leather shoes. Whenever his father was making shoes, Abu Kadar always squatted at his father's side, looking at leather made into leather shoes in his father's hands. Abdul Kadar felt unbelievable.

And every time a father makes a pair of shoes, Abdul Kadar will try it on. At this time, he is most delighted.

    Manual "whirlwind"

If his father made hand-made leather shoes in exploration, Abu al Qatar experienced the heyday of hand-made leather shoes.

Although his father had told him that making shoes was not only dirty and bitter, he did not want his children to go their own way again, but under his persistence, his father finally handed the shoe making technology to him.

In 1954, Abdul Qatar taught his skills, but because of the family economic situation, he had to give up his studies and become a worker of Yili Hongxing farm machinery factory. Later, because of the deficit of Hongxing agricultural machinery factory, he left the farm machinery factory to find another way out.

Abdou Dacal said that because of his father's shoe making skills, with the help of his friends, he bought shoes and leather shoes and started a shoemaking business.

He remembered that the man who bought his first pair of shoes was a friend's neighbor at a price of 30 yuan.

Since then, Abdul Qatar has been working on leather shoes day and night.

At that time, no machine, all manual technology, produced shoes for a long time, and had better eyesight and flexible hands. Abdul Qatar made all of them.

In 70s, there was a hand sewing machine in the market, but he still used the most traditional way to sew leather shoes.

According to Abdou Kadar, the soles of the shoes were made of leather bases. They were hard and heavy like wood, because they were strong and durable, so they were welcomed by many citizens.

As long as shoes are made, they can be sold out almost every day.

During that time, the leather handicraft industry in Yili entered a period of vigorous development. Whether it was leather making or shoes making, business was good.

Every household comes to shop to make shoes. Besides satisfying Yili's local market, shoes are also sold to cities in Urumqi and southern Xinjiang, and Yili's hand-made leather shoes have gained fame in the territory.

At that time, the prospect of the hand-made leather shoes market was particularly good. It not only sold quickly, but also the price was high, and was deeply favored by the people of all ethnic groups, so the craftsmen who made hand-made shoes sprang up like mushrooms in the street.

    Persist in persistence

In the development of shoemaking industry, shoes of various styles can always be pformed.

At this time, hand-made shoes with a single style and long production time are gradually difficult to enter people's eyes, and traditional hand-made shoes have been impacted.

In order to be able to retain customers, Abu al QAR often took his son Abduly Kul to the shopping mall to see the new leather shoes style, constantly changing the styles and patterns of shoes, trying to attract more consumers.

Now Abdul kuru's superb shoemaking technology is learned with his father.

Abdusky Kul said that although his father retired now, he would stay in the shoe shop almost all day, and check his shoes one by one. If there was something wrong, he would point out that he would make changes until his father was satisfied.

In Abu Du Xu's description, shoemaking is a very relaxing thing to choose leather, shoe last, sole and leather base, grinding and punching the leather base, pressing shoes with the sewing machine, and finally gluing the shoes with universal glue, baking in the oven for a while, then pulling out the shoe last.

But the actual operation is very complicated, even if the shoe making skill is skilled, he can produce 4 or 5 pairs of shoes a day.

Although Abduly Kul's shop is small and deep in the alley, everyone around him knows this place.

Abdusky Kul was busy every day. The sound of sewing shoes and the sound of polished leather came out of the shop. After a while, the shop resumed its original silence.

The bronze shoe making tools and the calloused hands left behind traces and vicissitudes of time.

For many people, he was tired and lonely, but Abdusky Kul felt that he had a close relationship with these skins and tools that had been used for decades.

At present, Abdusky Kul's son also went to junior high school, like to make small things.

In the eyes of Abu al QAR, Sun Tzu is a good seedling. If you take a little time, you will learn all about shoemaking.

Without affecting Sun Tzu's learning, he often told grandchildren about hand-made footwear techniques.

Because of his love for traditional handicrafts, Abu al Qatar hopes to pass on this technology from generation to generation.
