From the Shandong provincial chamber of Commerce, we learned that in 2014, the total import and export value of our province was US $277 billion 120 million, an increase of 4% over the same period last year.

Affected by the slow recovery of world economy and weak external demand, Shandong's foreign trade growth slowed down.

Wang Hua, director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, said that from the perspective of the development trend of foreign trade, Shandong's foreign trade growth slowed down after the financial crisis.

From 2002 to 2008, Shandong's foreign trade increased by 29.2% annually, and from 2008 to 2014 was 6 years. The total foreign trade grew by only 9.8% in the past 6 years.

Ji'nan customs data show that in 2014, general trade imports and exports accounted for 61.8% of total imports and exports in the same period, while processing trade accounted for 30.8%. In terms of market structure, Shandong had 32 pairs of offshore markets, including traditional markets.

The growth of import and export of the state and the 47 land-based Silk Road Economic Belt countries has also maintained a good trend, with an increase of 7.3% and 4% respectively. In terms of product mix, the import and export of electromechanical products have achieved two digit growth.

From the world economic situation, the US economy has relatively stable recovery trend. The growth of developing economies and emerging market economies will be slightly higher than that of developed economies. Under the new normal economic situation, enterprises should not rely too much on the substantial recovery of the European and American economies, or increase the intensity of reform and opening up and the innovation of institutional mechanisms, so as to boost the structural adjustment, optimize the structure and enhance the competitiveness of products, thus counteracting the impact of the sluggish external demand.

Despite major changes in the operational environment of foreign trade, foreign trade is still in an important period of strategic opportunity. We can actively promote a new round of opening up, such as the "one belt and one way" strategy and the China South Korea Free Trade Zone, which will create new development space for Shandong.

Wang Hua said that in order to maintain steady growth in foreign trade this year, Shandong will continue to implement overseas 100 exhibition market development plan to help enterprises expand the market and share their shares, and will strengthen the construction of key cross-border e-commerce platform and expand the export scale of e-commerce.
