Yesterday, the Guangzhou Municipal People's social Bureau, the Federation of City Federation of trade unions and the Municipal Legal Aid Office held the "spring breeze action 2015" to promote the recruitment of migrant workers in urban areas in Guangzhou. Liu Xiaojie said that wages for front-line workers increased by about 10% over the past year, but "it's still hard to recruit people."
Young people do not want to work overtime to make "coolies".
"According to our survey, job seekers prefer to work in the service industry rather than in manufacturing."
Zhang Baoying, director of Guangzhou human resources market service center, said that the total labor force and young labor force in job hunting are decreasing. Manufacturing enterprises, especially labor-intensive manufacturing enterprises, are more difficult to recruit.
Why do young people not want to engage in manufacturing? Reporters interviewed many job seekers that most of the reasons were labor intensity and overtime work, and the salary competitiveness of Guangzhou enterprises decreased compared with that in other places.
Miss Liu, who was born in 1994, is from Shantou. She said she worked in a factory in the past few years, and she could get six thousand or seven thousand yuan a month. According to the survey of supply and demand situation of human resources in Guangzhou city in 2014 before the Spring Festival, Guangzhou's human resources market service center, last year, the city's human resource market registration and recruitment (demand) was 2 million 107 thousand passengers, a decrease of 293 thousand times compared with the same period last year, a decrease of 12.2%; the number of people entering the job market (i.e. supply) was 1 million 415 thousand, a decrease of 487 thousand times compared with the same period last year, and a decrease of 25.6%.

Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of commercial and service industries increased by 13.3 percentage points, and the proportion of production and pportation workers and staff decreased by 10.3 percentage points.
