Wang Tiankai said in his speech that the Cross-Strait Cooperation Symposium on textile industry has been over 12 years for more than 20 years. Over the years, Taiwan textile industry colleagues have given many experiences and inspiration to the development of the industry, which has benefited the mainland textile industry.

Looking back at the past "12th Five-Year" period, the mainland textile industry actively responded to the complex and grim external situation, striving to achieve a smooth pition from high speed growth to medium speed growth, and the supporting role of industrial structure optimization and development quality improvement became increasingly prominent.

Although the environment at home and abroad is still complicated, the textile industry has more and more momentum to speed up pformation and upgrading.

From the international perspective, the restructuring of the global industrial distribution system, the development of information network technology and the fierce competition in the world have driven the mainland textile industry to accelerate the construction of new international competitive advantages.

From the domestic perspective, the mainland has built a well-to-do society in an all-round way, started multi fields and diversified domestic demand, comprehensively deepened reform, and further released the dividend of the system. The "all in one" strategy to build a new pattern of opening up will provide a strong endogenous impetus for the textile industry to accelerate pformation and upgrading.

To further open up the space for future exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the textile industry, Wang Tiankai stressed that four aspects should be focused on in the future: first, deepen industrial innovation cooperation, actively expand ideas, build a richer, more diversified and pragmatic exchange platform, and promote exchanges in technology development, technology pfer, ecological standards, fashion creativity, innovative talents and so on, so as to achieve effective cooperation projects.

Zhan Zhengtian's speech

Zhan Zhengtian, chairman of Taiwan Textile Development Association, delivered a welcome speech.

He said that Taiwan's textile industry has been an important foreign exchange earning industry in Taiwan. In 2015, it created a trade surplus of US $7 billion 350 million, which is an important pillar industry to maintain the stable development of Taiwan's economy.

The supply chain of the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Taiwan textile industry is very complete, especially the products of fiber, yarn, cloth and so on, which have long been well known in the international textile market.

In recent years, as textile practitioners continue to invest in research and development, textile technology standards are constantly improving, and market competitiveness is also improved.

As the global economic environment is still not improving, the export of Taiwan's textile industry has also been affected. However, the mainland is still an important export market and the largest source of imports for Taiwan textiles, indicating that the economic and trade ties between the two sides of the textile industry are still very close.

Over the past ten years, the mainland's economy has risen rapidly, attracting a large number of foreign investment and creating the world's factory status.

Accompanied by the mainland's production costs have also been substantially improved, industrial technology is also progressing, the cross-strait textile industry has developed towards Co opetition relations, how to cooperate to win, depends on the cross-strait textile industry to fully communicate, brainstorming.

Zhan Zhengtian pointed out that at this critical moment, the cross strait textile industry elite exchange again, to promote the vigorous development of the textile industry across the Strait to contribute to the future, it has special significance.

Xu Shengxiong, director of the Taiwan Association of industries, said in his speech that the textile industry is an important industry for both the mainland and Taiwan. It plays a great role in promoting economic development, meeting the needs of consumers and developing employment.
