After decades of development, the mold industry in Quanzhou has gone from the early stage of manual workshop processing to the current numerical control and intelligent processing stage, forming a subdivision area of shoe mold, plastic mold, melamine mold, casting mold, water heating mould, ceramic mold, and so on, covering the main manufacturing industries in Quanzhou.

According to the survey of Quanzhou die & Mould Industry Association, only in shoe mold, Quanzhou's shoe mold reached the first level in the country, which effectively supported the development and growth of the one hundred billion industries of Quanzhou shoes industry. This situation is neither sustainable nor sustainable.

For a long time in such an environment, many die and mould enterprises are always in the "business world" attitude towards survival. Any type of mold is processed without forming their own dedicated fields.

In addition, for a long time due to financial constraints, many die and mold enterprises dare not increase investment in equipment, R & D, and so on, but live on orders.

This leads to a dead cycle: the lack of capital in mold enterprises leads to slow updating of equipment, lagging development, and declining competitiveness. Mold enterprises, especially smaller mold enterprises, often use price as the main means to solicit orders for survival.

A lower price, on the one hand, means a decline in quality, which has depressed the impression of the manufacturing industry on the overall level of Quanzhou's mould. On the one hand, it has forced other companies with a certain scale to be dragged down, and high quality mold products have not received the proper value repayment, which has dampened the enthusiasm of these enterprises.

Lack of effective impetus to pformation and upgrading

At present, Quanzhou, the only pilot city in China, is also promoting the implementation process of "Quanzhou manufacturing 2025" in an all-round way.

Many manufacturing industries in Quanzhou have taken the initiative to respond to this call and promote the pformation and upgrading of the industry.

Quanzhou's mold industry also has this enthusiasm, but it is facing a shortage of power.
