Cheng Xiongwei, director of ramie Specialized Committee of China Textile and Textile Association, proposed that the future ramie production technology innovation should be embodied in three aspects: harvesting mechanization, degumming, automatic continuous and spinning innovation.

Cheng Wei said that during the "12th Five-Year" period, the ramie yarn export volume declined in China. There are two main reasons: first, the number of yarn exports decreased year by year because of market factors, the dependence of ramie textile products on the international market was as high as 90%, and the demand of the international market was weak, so that the export volume of ramie yarn decreased significantly. Two, with the adjustment of the product structure of ramie textile industry, the structure changed from the yarn export to the ramie fabric or clothing export, which improved the export grade of the products.

Ramie textile exports increased steadily during the "12th Five-Year" period.

Ramie fabrics exported 108 million 670 thousand meters in 2011, and ramie fabrics exported to 142 million 740 thousand meters in 2015, the highest export level in 20 years.

This is closely related to the continuous innovation of varieties and research and development of ramie enterprises in recent years.

"Innovative ramie products should be accorded with the cultural connotations that meet the needs of the development of the times."

Cheng Xiongwei believes that the times are developing and progresses. The long history of ramie is worth developing and inheriting, but we must give the connotation of the development of the times, so we must constantly accelerate the pace of technological innovation and industrial upgrading.

Ramie textile industry is a traditional industry and independent technology in China. There is no advanced technology and equipment in the world for reference.

Ramie industry technology development and progress is slow, resulting in high production costs, labor intensity, product quality is affected.

Is there any digging for the vitality of the domestic market?

"Product market development, domestic market is the key."

Xu Jixiang, President of the China Linen Textile Industry Association, said that since 80s of last century, ramie textile products have been developing in scale on the basis of the needs of the international market.

It shows that the dependence of the industry on the international market is too high. If there is no sound market and consumer demand, it is impossible for the industry to develop continuously.

Therefore, accelerating the development of ramie textile products domestic market is the focus of future industry development.
