The Fifth (2016) China Footwear Industry Development Forum: Technology Driven, Model Innovation

The fifth (2016) China footwear industry development forum was held in Suzhou, Anhui, with the theme of "technology driven innovation".

The forum is sponsored by China Light Industry Federation, China Leather Association, Anhui Provincial Economic Commission and Suzhou Municipal People's government. The forum aims to explore the technological development trend and hot issues of shoemaking industry and accelerate the application and development of innovative technology in China's footwear industry.

In the forum, the chairman interpreted the leather industry development plan (2016-2020).

During the "12th Five-Year" period, the leather industry maintained steady growth, and achieved some success in terms of independent innovation capability, green manufacturing, brand building, and integration of two technologies. But at the same time, the industry was also faced with challenges and opportunities.

The "13th Five-Year" period is an important strategic opportunity for the development of leather industry.

To this end, the plan has formulated 10 major objectives, such as maintaining an average annual growth of 7% of sales revenue during the "13th Five-Year" period, and 9 major tasks such as "innovation driven, upgrading effective supply level".

Finally, director Li emphasized that the "13th Five-Year" period is the decisive stage of building a well-off society in an all-round way. It is the power conversion period and the structural optimization period of the leather industry development. It is the key period to comprehensively enhance the quality of the development of the industry.

The important part of the leather industry will provide structural reforms to the supply side, insist on innovation driven, and continuously enhance the capacity of sustainable development of the industry, laying a solid foundation for China to move forward from a big leather country to a leather power.

The guests visited BELLE (Suzhou) factory, standardized workshop project, Cloud Computing Center, and so on, to fully understand the construction of Suzhou footwear industry.
