    From the Hangzhou Art Center to the Beijing concept store, from the "imagination lab" to the "Art Museum" that is being planned, Jiangnan Buyi, from the Beijing Art Center to the Beijing concept store, seems to have been carefully planning and planning the art layout. In Li Lin's view, "actually there is no plan". Just like Li Lin, who got the bachelor degree in chemistry from the Department of chemistry in 1994, he did not plan to create the cloth in the south of the Yangtze River.

    Reporter: what is the relationship between the Jiangnan Buyi Art Center, the imagination lab and the Jiangnan cloth?

    Li Lin: the art center of Hangzhou is called the laboratory of imaginative mechanics. Jiangnan Buyi is sponsoring the day-to-day operation of the laboratory of imaginative mechanics, including venues, manpower preparation and activities.

    Reporter: the art gallery is co designed by GOA with Renzo Piano (Renzo Piano Building Workshop) and building studio of Renzo Piano. Why is it going to cooperate with Renzo Piano? What stage is it now?

    It took us about three years to confirm the whole design of the headquarters building, which is still under construction.

    When I was a building enthusiast, when I was traveling, I would go to the field to see their works, and I always liked Renzo Piano's works.

    Reporter: why do you want to build an art gallery?

    Li Lin: there was plenty of space for planning and building office buildings in the south of the Yangtze River. At that time, I told the architect, "we can also build a long-term site for the" imagination mechanics laboratory ". During the chat, he knew that I was also collecting works of art.

    He suggested that the "imagination mechanics laboratory" as a younger, more experimental, more active and ongoing art institution, and the collection part could be made into an art gallery.

    But in fact, the idea of seeing it again is different now, because it is difficult to support a vibrant art gallery just by collecting.

    So in fact, how to operate the art museum, we do not have a very clear idea now.

    Reporter: will your art collections for many years be put in the art gallery?

    Li Lin: not necessarily.

    In the future, the museum will look for a team of professional curators and curators to decide the direction.

    As for whether this gallery has my collection, these are uncertain.

    After all, it is not yet clear whether this gallery is personal or will it be run again.

    The only thing that is certain now is that the funds come out of us.

    Reporter: how long have you collected works of art? What kinds of artworks do you usually receive?

    Li Lin: if it's for art, it will probably be seventeen or eight years. For example, if I see their works with artists and friends, I will buy them; go out to visit galleries, and see if I hang them at home, I will buy them.

    In fact, it was not a collection mentality at that time. It was hanging from home and decorating.

    If there is a systematic purchase of art, it should be 2008 after that, slowly find interest.

    Reporter: how do you arrange your work and your hobbies (Art)?

    Li Lin: about half of the time in Hangzhou, because home and work in Hangzhou, half of the time travel around the world, in 2015, I went to the ten Art Fair.

    Basically, Basel's three art fairs (Basel, Miami and Hongkong) go to at least two art exhibitions in Freize, two in London, two in London, and FIAC in France.

    Reporter: many international brands such as LV, Prada and so on are also making brand Art Foundation, building art galleries and performing art exhibitions. Does the way of these brands have an impact on Jiangnan cloth?

    Li Lin: actually not.

    I know that when LV was doing Foundation, it was about two or three years ago. At that time, our art project had already started, not from the idea of LV Foundation.

    Art is inspiring to design, so we can see that so many brands including LV, Prada and Chanel do many art projects.

    For designers, art is more free in creation and has a great influence on design, so that the crowd will be very concerned about art.

    Reporter: in your opinion, what is the difference between art and design?

    Li Lin: for me, art is more about asking questions, and design is for solving problems.

    It is necessary to have functions to design things; art often throws a problem in a very relaxed way, but perhaps it is this problem that makes many people think about it a lot. I think this is a great place for art.

    Reporter: have you ever said that if you choose again, you will read art history?

    Li Lin: I didn't systematically learn art.

    In fact, the most interesting part of collecting is to find clues for yourself. For example, sometimes I see an artist in a gallery, I like it very much and the price can bear it. I will buy it. After I go back, I will go over and study this artist.

    Especially when I was not familiar with foreign artists in the early days, I would buy them first, and then I would like to study them.

    I find that those artists I like affect their people, and I like them very much.

    Whenever this time, I feel that if I have a good teacher, I will follow him to learn well.

    Reporter: is there such a case that you have a similar experience with your favorite artists?

    Li Lin: more or less.

    It's like fortune telling and chicken soup. Why do people go to see it? It's because everyone found one or two points in it that just coincided with themselves.

    Reporter: have you ever thought of making an exhibition yourself?

    Li Lin: I am very interested in these things, but let the professional people do it professionally.

    I am a fetish, and I like to go to the flea market wherever I go.

    When I went to Japan, I bought a lot of cloth and bottles and cans in the Edo period. Over the years, I bought many postcards, wrapping paper, cards and so on.

    My family is almost full of things, they are related to memory.

    My mindset is that when I buy something I like, I get a lot of happiness. And after playing for many years, I earn it.

    If I want to make an exhibition one day, I should do a "tattered" exhibition.

    Reporter: how many people are there in Jiangnan Buyi flying design team? What are the criteria for selecting designers?

    Li Lin: at present, we have four brands, JNBY is about more than 10, sketches and less are more than 10, JNBY by JNBY children's wear is less, only four.

    In the choice of designers, professionality is a part and skill is also important.

    There are two kinds of children who feel good in design. One kind of vision is good, but they are not good at hand. This kind of person is suitable for buyers and stylists. There is another class that can think deeply about it. After all, the finer the painting is, the better the painting is, the better it is, and this category is more suitable for making things.

    Including personality sunshine is also important, nothing else, many things can be taught.

    Li Lin: Yes, I didn't want her to wear cartoons when I was my daughter, but actually my daughter went to play with Disney when she was little, and still liked Disney cartoons, so I had to follow her.

    At first she occasionally wore my clothes, which was a face saving.

    Now she is 7 years old, she basically wears our clothes, because people always exaggerate her beauty when she wears them out. In fact, people's eyes are shaped like this.

     

    Reporter: what you read at the university is the Department of chemistry of Zhejiang University. How do you change from a science student to a science student

    Li Lin: Chinese children have started the arts and Sciences Division since high school, and many choices are made by their parents. I am a more intelligent person, but my father was more autocratic, and I chose chemistry.

    From childhood, I stood on the opposite side of my father. This may be related to my reading. When I was young, I read western novels, and the values were molded.

    But people are like that. Whatever you like in your nature, no matter what you are doing and what environment you are in, you will be attracted by those things.

    Reporter: apart from work and art, what else do you like?

    Li Lin: before I had children, I had about two movies a day for 15 years, and I took a machine with a disc.

    I can see that the film is quite wide. I can't remember the names of those Scandinavian films. But those tones, pictures and weird stories are very impressive.

    I also like some popular movies, such as "escape from prison" and "Dandelion".

    Occasionally, the domestic films will also see, especially the "the Summer Palace", because the heroine is like me in 1988, and the mood of her is very close to me. And this girl's character is very similar to a girl who has a good relationship with me. I feel that this movie is related to my youth.

    Reporter: from science and engineering status to clothing design, to art, how do you understand crossover?

    Li Lin: I didn't think so much. For me, if there was an interest in things and conditions allowed, I would try it. As to whether it was cross boundary, I did not think much about it.

    For example, I also like to cook, usually do not do, but occasionally take children traveling, shopping, cooking, I also enjoy it.
