The two sides discussed, in combination with material objects, images, documents and other materials, to jointly carry out the technical research, art research, famous object research and restoration research of silk dyeing and weaving, clothing and Buddhist utensils between Dunhuang and the Silk Road, especially the research on the fiber and chromatography of textile relics unearthed in the northern region, as well as the research on restoration, protection and restoration.

2. Strengthen the digital cooperation of Dunhuang silk relics

The two sides intend to carry out cooperation on the digitization of Dunhuang silk relics. The Chinese silk museum will help the digital return of Dunhuang silk relics from Britain, France, Russia, Japan, India and other countries. The Dunhuang Research Institute will also support and participate in the construction of the Silk Road digital museum led by the China Silk Museum and build a large platform for Silk Road cultural research.

China Silk Museum plans to set up a special exhibition of "Dunhuang silk and Silk Road" in Dunhuang Research Institute to introduce the types of silk found in Dunhuang, and carry out craft research and exhibition. China Silk Museum has long been committed to the study of Dunhuang silk and Silk Road, and has long-term cooperation with Dunhuang Academy. Since 2006, together with Donghua University, it has sorted out Dunhuang silk and textiles collected by the British Museum, British Library, French Jimei Museum, French National Library, Russian Hermitage Museum, Lushun Museum and Dunhuang Research Institute. The complete collection of Dunhuang Silk Art (British collection, French collection and Russian collection volume) has been published, and Lushun volume and Dunhuang volume will be completed 。 Since 2013, China Silk Museum has carried out the protection and restoration of some textile cultural relics unearthed in the northern area of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, and held the exhibition "thousand strands of patchwork: protection and research of textiles unearthed from Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes" in 2014.
