Customs Data: China'S Import And Export Volume Of Wool Textile Raw Materials And Products Declined From January To November

According to Chinese customs data, from January to November 2022, the cumulative import and export volume of wool textile raw materials and products totaled US $15.5 billion, down 6.8% year on year, 4 percentage points more than the decline in the first three quarters. Among them, the export volume was US $11.4 billion, down 5.1% year on year, 5.3 percentage points lower than the growth rate in the first three quarters; The import volume was 4.1 billion US dollars, down 10.1% year on year, 0.7 percentage points lower than the growth rate in the first three quarters. Since the fourth quarter, the situation of wool textile exports has slowed down significantly.

In addition to wool yarn, the export of wool textile intermediate products showed a rapid growth. From January to November, the export value of wool fabrics was 480 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 50%, the export value of wool tops was 470 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 42%, and the export value of non wool fabrics was 440 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 50%. Over the same period, the export of wool yarn reached US $810 million, down 11% year on year.

From January to November, imported wool totaled 265000 tons, a slight decline of 0.6% compared with the same period. The average import unit price was US $7859/ton, down 6.3% year on year. As of November, the cumulative volume of Australian wool imports increased by 0.2%; New Zealand and South Africa fell 15% and 41% respectively.
