Feng Shouming: A Taiwanese Businessman In Wuhan For Ten Years

Feng Shouming, who was born in Taipei in 1956, was born in Jiangsu. My father was a native of Jiangsu. My mother was a northeastern man. When my family moved to Taiwan, my parents were just ordinary staff and lived a quiet life.

Although Feng Shouming was the youngest child in his family, he was very sensible from childhood, and his mouth was sweet. His parents liked him very much.
After Feng Shouming graduated from high school, he began to walk into the society.

Feng Shouming has been selling beauty and make-up products, selling mainly to women. In order to establish emotional and solid relationship with customers, he often goes shopping with his aunt and aunt to help them carry food basket.

In the early years of 80, Feng Shouming, 25, went to Ford, a US car sales company in Taiwan, and was engaged in car sales. It never occurred to me that it was twenty years.
In Ford, his business volume is not the biggest, but his performance is always the best. That is to say, he sells not the largest number of cars, but every car sold for the company is earning more profits, asking about the mystery. He said, "because I do not need to cut prices to urge customers to buy, I will educate and tell customers why our car is worth this price, which is worth buying."
At the beginning of 90, it was the time when the mainland accelerated the pace of reform and opening up.
He worked in Taiwan Ford automobile dealers want to develop the mainland's auto market, so asked Feng Shouming do not want to think of Wuhan to develop.
Feng Shouming feels that the mainland is undergoing reform and opening up. There will surely be bright prospects. Anyway, sooner or later, it will always come. It is better to come earlier and lay a good foundation. In 1993, Feng Shouming set up Wei Han Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. in Wuhan. The company received the authorization from the Ford Motor Company of the United States as the general distributor in Hubei District of China, and mainly sold the original imported cars of Ford.
At that time, the conditions in Wuhan were not very good.
At the very beginning, the market was immature and some unforeseen factors made it difficult for the company to start.
Before that, the three foreign-funded enterprises in mainland China could buy a quota of one or several tax-free cars as long as the turnover reached a certain level.
At the end of 93, with the start of macroeconomic regulation and control, the tax exemption policy of three foreign-funded enterprises was cancelled.
So far, Mr. Feng Shouming still remembers the situation at that time: "at that time, dozens of cars were placed in the warehouse, but they could not be sold.
The worst thing I did was in 1995. I only sold one car in a year. I remember selling it to a customer in Wuchang in 95, May.
The secret of success is: "there is no shortcut to success, only perseverance and devotion." Feng Shouming is a person who knows the way and will go straight ahead.
He has great confidence in the industry he works in.
He said, the automobile industry is not a profiteering industry, its profit margin is relatively bottom, but it is a growth industry, as long as the economy is developing, our industry will rise.
In the past ten years, Feng Shouming saw a lot of Taiwanese businessmen who came to the mainland like him.
He said that at that time and he came to Wuhan at the same time, it has been very few till now.
When it comes to the factors of career success, Feng Shouming said, for anyone, dedication is impossible.
For me, there is perseverance.

Although Feng Shouming's Wei Han automobile won the general dealership of the Hubei region authorized by Ford in 1993, the joint venture factory of Ford automobile in China has not been established for various reasons. In order to survive the company and lay a foundation for future development, Feng Shouming decided to wait for Ford while actively seeking agents to sell other car brand products.
From 1994 to 1996, Feng Shouming successively obtained the agent sale right of the southeast Ling Chai, deli business vehicle and Fuli caraway vehicle and Jiangling series automobile produced by Fujian Southeast Motor Corp, and gradually established a strong sales and service network covering Hubei province.
At the beginning of 2003, the Ford Carnival car produced by Ford in Changan was offline. In March, Ford brand store in Wuhan was officially opened.
With the continuous introduction of Ford and Southeast Asia New Year's breadth and new cars, sales are booming.
In 2002, Wei Han Motor Company sold 2240 vehicles, with a sales volume of 320 million yuan.
In 2003, sales of 4000 vehicles and sales volume of 600 million yuan are expected.
Feng Shouming's Wei Han automobile passed through the long winter and finally welcomed the spring.
Happy life: Wuhan is my home. Mr. Feng Shouming has been in Wuhan for ten years. He has witnessed the great development of Wuhan in reform and development. He is pleased to see the rapid changes in Wuhan.
He said: "in recent years, Wuhan has made rapid progress, numbness has gone, illegal construction has been demolished, and the environment is beautiful.
In particular, the government invested tens of billions of dollars to pform urban roads.
I see that Wuhan is in its early stage and is developing rapidly.
With the development of career, Feng Shouming moved his family to Wuhan.
Now that his wife and son have arrived, two of his four brothers have come to Wuhan, and two brothers are coming.
Feng Shouming said he would be in Wuhan for the rest of his life, because he had fallen in love with the city.
He liked the bright lights of the beach at night; he liked to swing with his friends in the shade of golden silver lake in his spare time; he liked his son making fun of him in the new Wuhan dialect; he liked driving through three towns and two rivers and felt every little change in the city.
Feng Shouming feels that for a man, career and family are the two wings of happiness.
So he always felt lucky because he had a smart, independent and considerate wife.
Mrs. Feng Shouming, Mrs. Kang, is a senior vice president of foreign banks in Taiwan and Citibank.
When Feng Shouming arrived in Wuhan, her wife and children stayed in Taipei.
At that time, the child was only 2 years old, and his wife was very busy at work. She could go home for dinner only at eight or nine o'clock every night.
Feng Shouming was deeply gratified and grateful for those days and his wife's support.
He said, "I am very sad in Wuhan, and she is also very tired in Taipei.
She never gave me any pressure. She always trusted me and supported me financially and psychologically.
Thinking of her, I feel that eating too much pain is nothing. "
Although Feng Shouming will return to Taiwan several times a year, Ms. Kang will come to Wuhan at least once a year, but the two still feel that the family must remain together.
Although getting together means giving up the enviable high salary job in Taiwan, she chose to give up.
She believes that for a happy family, it is worth it.
Mrs. Kang said that before she came to Wuhan, she was worried about two things: first, she was worried that there was no suitable work for her. Two, I was worried that her son would not adapt to the school here.
Now, the two concerns are totally gone.
Now, she applied to a foreign investment consultant in Beijing as a financial consultant, half of the time in Beijing, half of Wuhan, both for career and family.
In the school of Yucai primary school, his son's ability to adapt to the environment is faster. The mathematics of Taipei school and the mathematics of mainland school differ for one year in terms of teaching content. Due to the fact that teachers often help him make up lessons, his son's math scores soon catch up, and the final exam also gets 100 points, and he is chosen as a "three good" student, which really made the whole family happy for a while.
He sincerely expects: "the two sides will naturally merge into one another in communication and exchanges." Feng Shouming said that when he was little, his parents often told him about his hometown, talked about the snowy winter in Northeast China, talked about the scenery of Jiangsu's water village, and talked about the hard life and national unity spirit during the war of resistance against Japan.
Therefore, he feels that his personal and family are kindly and kindly to the mainland.
He has always believed that the mainland and Taiwan are Chinese. They are now separated by a political divergence, but sooner or later, they will become one.
It was this mentality that prompted him to come to the mainland and regard the mainland as his last home.
Feng Shouming feels that there is still a need for closer communication between the two sides, especially private contacts.
He told a joke that a friend from Taiwan had asked him if he could bring a camera before he came to the mainland. He said, of course he can.
The friend said, "I'm afraid I'll be regarded as a spy."
Feng Shouming said that in Taiwan, many people still have some prejudices against the mainland. It is because they do not understand.
As long as we strengthen our contacts and we can see for ourselves, we will naturally get rid of the estrangement.
For example, when he came to the mainland, his relatives, his classmates and his friends knew more about the mainland. They would also come to the mainland because he was on the mainland. If he had any problems in Taiwan, everyone would support him.
He sincerely expects that the two sides will strengthen their communication and strengthen their contacts, so as to achieve unity.
