Several Batches Of Textiles Detected In Wuxi

Yesterday, reporters learned from the Wuxi inspection and quarantine bureau that in the first quarter of this year, the eco Textile Laboratory of the Bureau accepted a total of 2174 batches of textiles entrusted inspection, involving 827 batches of pH values for human health. After testing, 142 batches of failed pH values were found and 17.2% failed.

Especially in March, the test found that the number of unqualified batches increased significantly, reaching more than 70 batches.

According to introducing, pH value is the safety index of textiles.

If textiles are in strong acidic or alkaline conditions, they are not only easy to damage, but also irritate the skin and cause hidden cumulative damage to the human body, which is likely to cause skin allergy or induce infection.

According to the relevant national standards, the pH value of direct contact skin products should be controlled at 4 to 7.5, and the pH value of non direct contact skin products should be controlled at 4 to 9.

At present, a small number of textiles has a pH value of 9.5, which is seriously exceeding the standard.

Wuxi inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminds export enterprises that the impact of green barriers on textile and clothing trade is becoming increasingly prominent. Relevant enterprises should grasp the latest standards of ecological textiles and international and domestic general standards for textile and clothing, and strengthen the testing of textile related indicators, and actively safeguard consumers' health and safety.
