Guangdong Garment Exporters Have Changed Thousands Of Blood And Thousands Of New Companies.

This year, China's largest textile and garment export province, Guangdong, has thousands of garment export enterprises to exit, and thousands of enterprises are also appearing.

Under the pressure of many parties, the garment export industry in Guangdong has entered a period of great exchange of blood.

According to statistics from Guangzhou customs, in 2008 1~4, there were 9853 enterprises involved in garment export in Guangdong, of which 3654 were new enterprises with no export records in the same period last year. At the same time, 3665 enterprises had export in the same period last year, but there were no exports in April of this year.

In 2008 1~5, the national clothing and clothing accessories exported 40 billion 90 million US dollars, compared with the same period last year (the same below) increased by 9.3%.

Among them, Guangdong exported 8 billion 620 million US dollars, down 21.8%, in addition to January and March growth, the remaining 3 months showed a decline of more than 20%, especially in May, exports of 2 billion 480 million US dollars, a sharp decline of 30.6%.

Guangzhou customs analysts pointed out that the export of private enterprises has declined significantly, and enterprises have frequently entered and exported clothing export ranks.

In the month of 1~5 this year, Guangdong's private enterprises (including collective enterprises, private enterprises and individual industrial and commercial households) exported garments of 3 billion 400 million US dollars, down 44.7%, from 55.8% in the same period last year to 39.4%, of which private enterprises exported 3 billion 40 million US dollars, down 46.4%.

In 1~5 months, only 2876 enterprises in private enterprises had no export performance during the same period last year, and only exported this year, and 2410 enterprises with export in the same period last year did not export this year, but the newly increased export scale of enterprises was generally small.

Sun Huaibin, director of the China Textile Industry Association's Information Center, said in an interview with the first financial daily that at present, various factors have jointly pushed the textile and garment industry into a structural adjustment period.

As for the reasons why Guangdong's garment export enterprises are moving forward, the situation is not clear.

Wang Yisheng, director of Guangdong Lotte children's clothing enterprise, told reporters in the past year that the annual cost increase is not more than 5%. This year, because of the acceleration of RMB appreciation, labor costs and the implementation of the new labor contract law, the cost increased by more than 10%. This makes it difficult for enterprises to digest temporarily. The export performance of the company has shrunk by 30%~40% this year, and some enterprises around it have been closed because of no profit.

Wang Yi also mentioned that the rapid appreciation of the renminbi has made the cost advantages of the garment processing enterprises in Guangdong basically lose. Some of the simpler orders have been pferred to Southeast Asia or China's Midwest.

Some enterprises have told reporters that many textile and garment enterprises in Guangdong are in the scale of more than 500 people, and many workers often work in their factories for more than ten years. The new labor contract law implemented this year has a great impact on labour intensive clothing enterprises. Considering that there is a lot of trouble in labor disputes, and the whole business environment is sluggish, some enterprises choose to close new businesses at the end of last year and register new businesses this year.

Wang Qian, general manager and senior industry analyst of the first textile network, said in an interview with the newspaper yesterday that the structural adjustment of Guangdong's garment export enterprises is basically developing in a positive direction, eliminating some irregular enterprises and giving them opportunities to powerful enterprises.

In recent years, some private clothing export enterprises in Shenzhen, Guangdong have increased their performance in order to extract quotas. However, with the increase of export costs, the cancellation of quota for export, and the cancellation of the quota for export to the United States, it is expected to be eliminated at the end of this year. These "Bag Companies" have been phased out and Shenzhen's clothing exports are returning to normal.

However, this will drag down the export of garment exports in Guangdong. It is also one of the reasons for the growth of clothing exports and Guangdong's decline this year.
