Differences Between China'S Leather And Fur Standards And International Standards

The biggest differences between foreign standards, technical regulations and Chinese standards are the requirements for the safety and hygiene performance of products, which are usually embodied in the form of regulations and instructions. The standard is mainly the standard of test methods. However, China mainly embodies the requirements of products with mandatory standards, which are seldom restricted by the form of laws and regulations, and product standards occupy a large proportion in the standard system.

Foreign countries attach importance to product safety and hygiene performance, and constantly put forward new test methods and testing requirements, and the instruments and equipment used are also more advanced.

China should follow the development trend of international standards in a timely manner and shorten the gap with international standards.

In Europe and the United States, a lot of people came from protecting animals, getting close to nature, building human environment animal harmony relationship, and boycotting animal fur clothing. Therefore, the standard of fur products is not involved in ISO, CEN and other standard systems.

However, some sheepskin products are still popular with many people and have a good market.

China's leather products standards mainly include clothing leather, shoe upper leather, glove leather, leather for sole, leather for shoes, leather for furniture, film leather, automobile seat leather, etc. ISO international standard has only leather leather, glove leather and furniture leather standard.

Among them, there are great differences in the standards of leather for furniture.

The difference between China's leather testing standards and international standards is that the ISO/TC120 Leather Technology Committee has more than 60 ISO international standards drafted and released, and 40 Chinese leather inspection standards, of which 3 are equivalent and 25 are modified by international standards.

In recent years, China has attached importance to the standards of testing methods in line with international standards, and the standard of test methods has been greatly improved.

However, we still need to constantly adapt to the needs of the development of leather industry in the world, and speed up the revision of old method standards and the formulation of new method standards.

Compared with international standards, China still lacks the following standard testing methods (30 items), which mainly involve:

1. testing methods for raw materials (2 items);

2. testing methods for leather surface crack resistance (2 items);

3. determination of total silicon and water-soluble magnesium salt in leather (2 items);

4. test methods for waterproof property of soft leather and heavy leather (2 items);

5. wet blue skin test methods and special standards (3 items);

6. test methods for color fastness in leather washing process (3 items);

7. leather color fastness to water spots;

8. testing methods for the migration performance of leather color to polymer materials;

9. leather area test method;

10. leather coating thickness test method;

11. testing methods for dry heat resistance of leather;

12. test method for color change in leather accelerated aging process;

13. test method for waterproof performance of garment leather;

14. testing methods for heat resistance of leather.

15. test method for absorption of leather to water vapor;

Differences between international leather technology regulations and China

Developed countries such as Europe and the United States have relatively strong technology, coupled with financial support, they have been in the forefront of the world in the formulation of standards and technical specifications. They have not only developed a large number of standards for testing methods, but also formulated some product technical standards.

Since 1985, the European Union led by Germany has made hundreds of instructions in the process of implementing a series of common policies, a large part of which are technical regulations.

These technical regulations eliminate the trade barriers within the EU, but for the countries outside the EU, especially in many developing countries, they have set up various technical barriers to trade.

Regulations on special chemical indicators in China's leather industry

China Leather Association is aware that China's leather industry may encounter technical trade measures from the target countries in the future.

In January 2003, we formulated the "leather label eco leather product specification" and launched the first batch of leather logo eco leather enterprises in China's backbone leather enterprises.

The National Leather Industry Standardization Technical Committee has formulated the national standard of "the limit of leather and fur harmful substances", which has been issued by the National Committee of the leather industry.

The standard is mandatory.

These product specifications and national standards play a positive role in strengthening the tannery industry and promoting the awareness of environmental protection in leather industry.
