The products containing DMF in the market or on the market should be recovered from the market and consumers. The original validity period will be until March 17, 2010.

Shenzhen inspection and quarantine personnel said that the EU is an important area of footwear exports in China. The extension of the ban will have an impact on Shenzhen related enterprises exporting to the European Union.

According to statistics, in 2009, a total of 2858 batches of footwear products exported to Europe were exported from Shenzhen, with a value of 75 million 85 thousand US dollars. The quantity and value of goods accounted for 5.34% and 6.26% of the total exports of shoes in Shenzhen respectively.

The Shenzhen inspection and Quarantine Bureau has found that 2 methyl esters of fumaric acid in the moisture-proof agent used by the footwear products of the inspection and Quarantine Bureau exceeded the standard in the supervision of the enterprises. The discovery of the fuming acid in time prevented the occurrence of the withdrawal event in a timely manner.

The Shenzhen inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded the relevant enterprises that the selection of raw materials and the quality of products should be emphasized in the production process. When the supply contract was signed with the raw material suppliers, the DMF harmful substances should not be included to reduce the risk. If necessary, suppliers should be provided with no DMF related certificates.

In the daily production process, leather, desiccant, moisture-proof bags and other high risk products should be sent to the authority for testing to ensure that products meet the requirements of the relevant countries. At the same time, they should actively communicate with local customers, change the processing technology or change the raw materials and other ways to circumvent the impact of the EU Directive on DMF restriction on the export of products.
