Ke Wencong: Win Trust With Honesty And Diligence.
Ruili, Yunnan, known as "the first city of jadeite", is one of the four emerald distributing centers in China.
But 20 years ago, it was only an ordinary village on the border.
Not long ago, when a reporter from Yunnan and China's border journalists visited Ruili, the famous jewellery tycoon and the Secretary General of the Ruili jewelry Association, Mr. Ke Wen Tsung, told reporters how he came from a taxi driver to become a jewellery merchant.
Ke Wencong, 43, is one of the first jewelry stores in Ruili jewelry street, which he runs with his wife, Cai Xiumin, in the center of downtown Ruili.
In the past 20 years, his clients were not only in Beijing, Shanghai, Taiwan, but also from many neighboring countries such as Burma, India and Pakistan.
Today is the best business in jewellery street.
But who knows that before he came to Rili, Ke Wen Tsung was just an ordinary taxi driver?
Ke Wencong's hometown is in Quanzhou, Fujian.
After graduating from junior high school, he worked in a brick and tile factory contracted by his father.
At the age of 20, he began to work in a Sino foreign joint venture taxi company, 4 yuan a day, 120 yuan a month, which was a very good income at that time.
Before long, diligent and intelligent Ke Wencong decided to cash in a car from the company and come out alone.
At that time, driving a taxi was a very professional job, let alone a private taxi.
The whole town knew him.
But after running for a few years, Ke Wen Tsung felt that there would be no great achievement in this way. So at the age of 23, with the support of his wife, he resolutely decided to change his career.
Ke Wencong has traveled to more than ten provinces in China, Jiangxi, Hubei and Guangdong.
I hope to choose a developing industry.
However, through more than a year's investigation, Ke Wen Tsung summed up an experience: in a big city, it is difficult for him to find money making opportunities without capital and knowledge; on the contrary, the more backward areas are, the more talented people are, and those who live in coastal open areas may be able to make use of them in remote and backward areas.
So, when he was introduced by the villagers in the village, he decided to visit Ruili's small border town.
When he first came to Ruili, he once stroll around the street and saw that the curfew on the roadside stalls was beautiful and cheap. It seemed that he suddenly found business opportunities and bought a big bag to go home.
Unexpectedly, a ring that bought five or six yuan, sold two or thirty yuan for the gold shop in the old home, and the profits doubled several times.
So, Ke Wen Tsung followed frequent trips between Fujian and Ruili.
After running for more than a year, Ke Wen Tsung decided to move to his home with his wife.
In order to make up the money, they sold all the things such as televisions, motorcycles and so on, and spent 13500 yuan. Even to save money, even bowls, chopsticks, toothbrushes, toothpaste and quilts were taken from their homes.
In this way, they came to Ruili.
The initial business was very difficult.
At that time, there was no jewelry store at all.
Because there was no capital, Ke Wen Tsung could only sell it from very low grade items.
However, because there is no legal right to operate, the industry and Commerce and customs will come at any time to seize everything and confiscate everything.
In 1992, the government of Ruili decided to develop the jewellery industry and build a jewellery street in the center of the city.
Knowing the news, Ke Wen Tsung and his wife were happy and worried.
Happily, they can finally open a shop belonging to their own and operate legally. What worries them is that they only came to Ruili soon and couldn't afford to pay so much rent.
Many of them, like old coco, did not have the courage to fight at all. However, Lao Ke and his wife decided not to let go of this opportunity, even if they had to borrow money from usury to enter jewellery street.
At first, there were only six or seven houses in jewellery street. Later, with the development of jewelry industry in Ruili, there were more and more merchants on jewellery street.
Up to today, it has developed to four thousand or five thousand.
Lao Ke, who has grasped business opportunities, has a mantra: "if you work hard, you will never have no food to eat."
Several years later, Lao Ke's business is getting better and better.
However, when Lao Ke had just tasted a little success, another unexpected thing happened.
In the past 96 years, a new item on the market was called B goods, that is, fake goods.
The cost of one hundred yuan is better than that of one thousand pieces of B.
Many people do not understand and buy fake goods in succession.
No way, Lao Ke's business had to stop for some time.
Lao Ke said that when he was almost moved, he saw others selling fake goods so much money, he also wanted to buy a fake to come back for sale.
But in the end, Lao Ke persisted.
He believes that business reputation is the most important.
The brand must be slowly produced.
As long as customers buy a fake in your store, you will never come back in second. If you buy it once, you may bring your friends to buy it next time.
The road of selling fake goods is narrower and narrower, and the way to sell real goods is getting wider and wider.
Up to now, the first group of merchants stationed in jewellery street with Lao Ke has only one or two.
However, Lao Ke's honesty and credit management made him laugh until he finally lost his fortune.
Just last year, the brand of "Ke Mei jewelry" of Lao Ke also won the title of "Yunnan famous trademark" and "Dehong state key brand". Many businessmen were competing for cooperation and joining.
96 years of boycott of counterfeit goods, 97 years of joint efforts in the industry to fight against the financial turmoil, 03 years of "SARS" generosity, 08 years to take the lead in helping Sichuan earthquake, calm response to the financial crisis......
After so many incidents, Lao Ke's diligence and integrity have won the unanimous trust and respect of all of us.
