    Zheng Xiukang's road to brand building

     

    In 1991, Zheng Xiukang registered the head portrait trademark for Kangnai, which implied the hope that Wenzhou people would lift their heads up.


    In the second half of 1993, Beijing's Wangfujing, Xidan shopping center, Shanghai 100th goods and other banners, welcome China's ten largest shoe king shop.

    Kangnai became the first Wenzhou leather shoes to be stationed in the National Mall.

    In 1999, he returned to the Zhejiang shoe industry's first "China famous trademark" gold medal.


    In June 2001, chairman Zheng Xiukang went to Rome, Italy to cut the ribbon for Kangnai store.

    So far, nearly 20 Kangnai stores have been operating overseas.


    In 2002, he again won the honorary title of "leather leader shoe king", the first shoe industry in Wenzhou.

    Reporter: Kangnai has developed into a famous brand. What do you think is the core competitiveness of Kangnai?


    Zheng Xiukang: Kangnai has a history of 30 years. I think the key to its competitiveness lies in culture.

    After decades of accumulation, the culture of the enterprise has been recognized by all the employees, recognized by the society and recognized by the industry.

    From a large brand oriented enterprise, culture highlights Kangnai's development process.

    With the culture, enterprises can set up the enterprise system, team spirit and future goals, which are also achieved by the joint efforts of all staff.

    Zheng Xiukang: as an international brand, I think there are three reasons.

    The first is the responsibility of our industry. Since China's accession to the WTO, China Light Industry Federation and China Leather Association have proposed in 99 years that China should have 3-5 brands that are internationally known.

    We have an obligation to bear this responsibility.


    The second is the strength of our enterprises. Our Kangnai shoe industry is the leader in the industry.

    From the creation of brand to quality management, Kangnai achieved excellent results in the work of equipment and machinery in 1990.

    From then on, Kangnai's products represent the international style of Chinese leather shoes.

    Products must be integrated with the international market to ensure the integration of technology, technology, equipment and talents. Kangnai has such a basis.


    Third, Kangnai spread its culture, brand influence, brand spirit and team in the international arena. If we do not go out, we will always maintain a distance from the international level and take a closer step.

    From the above three aspects, Kangnai group "going out" should be said to be an exploration, and it is the exploration of Chinese brands to the international market.

    Reporter: in recent years, the European Union and the United States have frequent anti-dumping cases, plus the pressure of RMB appreciation. What do you think is the way out for China's footwear industry?

    Will they be affected by such a pformation?


    Zheng Xiukang: anti dumping and pressure appreciation are all international inequalities.


    Chinese enterprises did not feel like they had to change their careers before, and had to adjust their industries. Through such experience, they could test Chinese enterprises, improve their manufacturing industries, protect their intellectual property rights, and enhance their brand value.

    This is a very painful process. Foreign countries are under pressure on us. We need to upgrade ourselves urgently.

    In my opinion, since foreign countries are unreasonable, but we can not be reasonable enough, we should think about how to adapt ourselves to international business and adjust ourselves and improve ourselves.


    Chinese brands need people's support.


    Reporter: China's entire fashion industry is faced with a brand problem. How do you think you can change the monopoly of some foreign brands?


    Zheng Xiukang: the difference between Chinese brand and foreign brand is not understood by consumers, and the government has no strong support.

    Foreign market economy and brand experience are earlier than ours. Consumers always feel that brands are sold in foreign languages and sell two thousand or three thousand brands.

    But speaking from the industry, the high price is not necessarily a good brand. Many people have no sense of what is different after they have spoken of foreign brands.

    From the perspective of industry analysis, the cost of foreign enterprises is higher than that of Chinese enterprises.

    There is a process of creating brand in China, relying on national development and people's support.


    Entrepreneurial difficulty is only expected.


    Reporter: China still has great potential to become a high-end brand.

    What is the biggest difficulty you face in your entrepreneurial process?


    Zheng Xiukang: when an enterprise wants to succeed, there are difficulties in starting a business.

    Falling down in front of difficulties is really difficult.

    Every day we come across a new situation that can be solved. There is no real difficulty in climbing every day and climbing harder.

    I think that for China's successful enterprises, the difficulties are only some of the expected work.

    At present, for me, there is not a profound influence that makes me feel difficult.


    Reporter: is there a specific thing that you have never experienced before?


    Zheng Xiukang: in the country's mechanized production line has not been successful, and the August 8, 1987 Wenzhou shoes fire incident, this is a big environment.

    But we overcome it, in fact, is a revolution and pformation, these measures should be said to solve the problem, not to solve difficulties.

    From the footwear industry, we need to pform and upgrade.

    On pformation, a large enterprise does not make leather shoes to do other businesses, it may not be the strength of this enterprise.

    This promotion involves management, institutions, markets, brands, and teams.

    I feel that the Wenzhou business has been running for more than ten years, and along such a direction, it is the same as learning and training the second generation and cultivating the team.

    Therefore, it is easy for Wenzhou people to get ahead of their feet.

    Reporter: your daughter and son are now in the management of the enterprise. Are you satisfied with their current work?


    Zheng Xiukang: Kangnai has been developing for 30 years. We feel that at this time the enterprise began to involve second generation of problems, which is related to the chairman's age and the level of enterprise development.

    We can divide children into several stages.

    The first stage is to cultivate children's love and professionalism. We often take them to work in factories at junior high schools, high schools and universities, so that they can establish a sense of labour and get closer to their employees.

    The second stage is the input stage, so that they can start from the grassroots work after graduation, and then to the leadership.


    Only in this way can they understand what the enterprise is doing and understand the whole operation thinking and the culture of the enterprise.
