A 90'S Worker'S Payroll And Pformation Of A Textile Enterprise
July 6th, Zhejiang
Legenow
In the workshop of Textile Co., Yang Mao, 20 years old, lowered his head and carefully put a down underwear into the sewing machine's bayonet. As the intensive machine needle vibrated, this down underwear finished the last working procedure.
Yang Mao opened the notebook at hand and filled up a regular character.
According to the current progress, his monthly salary will exceed 2600 yuan in June, 30% higher than the salary he got in the same period last year.
Like Yang Mao, most manufacturing workers in Zhejiang have been paid higher wages than ever before in this intensive wage increase this year.
According to the information of Zhejiang Economic Commission, the average monthly wage of industrial workers above Designated Size reached 2115.8 yuan in the 1-5 months of this year, an increase of 16.7% over the same period last year.
In fact, with the change of China's population structure, coastal areas have experienced several times.
Labor shortage
After that, China's economy has been getting closer and closer to the "turning point of Lewis" (the turning point of surplus labor force to shortage), and the rising labor cost has become an inexorable trend.
Under the dense wage increase, textile, electronics and other labor-intensive industries have encountered enormous cost pressures. Over the years, China's manufacturing industry, which occupies the global export market with low cost advantages, is facing unprecedented difficulties.
How to change the original
Management
The mode and development mode are not only an enterprise, but also become a problem that Chinese manufacturing industry and the whole Chinese economy must face.
In Zhejiang, a manufacturing province, the demand for such change is even more urgent.
Wages have gone up.
"A month can make two thousand fifty six, I have been very satisfied."
Yang Mao said with a smile.
In December last year, the 90 boy from Zhumadian, Henan, moved from another large textile enterprise in Xiaoshan to Lin Na textile.
When he was at work in the factory, Yang Mao got the monthly salary of around 2000 yuan, and arrived at Lin no textile for a monthly salary of more than 2500 yuan.
In the workshop, Yang Mao is an ordinary assembly line lathe worker, who is responsible for one of the procedures of down underwear.
According to the wage appraisal standard of piecework system in factories, the more workers do, the more they earn.
Even with such incentives, Yang Mao did not want to earn too much money.
"Earn more and do more. It's too tired."
He said.
Unlike Yang Mao's idea, Li Xiaoyi, 28, wants to earn more money.
Last month, her salary was 2800 yuan, and her husband in the workshop made 3000 yuan, which was much higher than the level of 2000 yuan last year.
"My son is 6 years old. He must save more money."
Li Xiaoyi said that in addition to her son, she and her husband had to take care of their parents in the rural areas of Jiangxi, plus the daily expenses of the couple. The monthly income of the family could reach five thousand or six thousand yuan, but it still felt that they could not save much money. "One year, twenty thousand or thirty thousand yuan is the largest."
They plan to build a new house in their hometown, which will cost nearly 200 thousand yuan.
Therefore, saving money is the biggest goal of Li Xiaoyi's husband and wife. They must do more work and even more classes.
Gao Bailin, general manager of Lin textile, is very impressed with the rise in wages this year.

Gao Berlin made a calculation. The price of piecework wage increased by 10% compared with last year. In order to improve the enthusiasm of workers, the factory also set up a bonus, quarterly and annual payment, and the bonus expense increased the overall wage level of the factory by 20%.
Two wage increases combined, since the beginning of this year, the overall salary level of the textile industry has risen to 30%.
At present, the monthly salary of Lin Mo's lathe workers is 2500 yuan -3500 yuan / month, and the general worker is 1700 yuan -1800 yuan / month, the average level has exceeded 2000 yuan / month.
The wage level and the rise of the textile industry are a microcosm of Zhejiang's manufacturing sector's wage increase this year.
According to statistics from Zhejiang Guangzhou Poly Human Resources Development Co., this year, the average monthly salary of the migrant workers is 1700 yuan / month, up 15% from the same period last year.
The company is a professional company in Hangzhou (Xiasha) economic and Technological Development Zone to carry out labor dispatching business.
In view of this change, the provincial Commission believes that enterprises generally adopt wage raising measures to alleviate recruitment difficulties, thus significantly increasing the cost of employment.
Retain workers
Last December's job hopping, for Yang Mao, attracted him in addition to higher wages, new factory living conditions, two or three people, a dormitory, air conditioning, water heaters, independent bathroom, and even the Internet cable, and free internet access.
The staff dormitory of Lin no textile is a five story building, located within the factory area, separated from the production workshop and office area less than 50 meters, for workers free accommodation.
Yang Mao's dormitory is located on the third floor. The room, which is about 15 square meters, occupies only him and another fellow townsman. Two people clean up the room. The air-conditioner hanging on the wall keeps blowing cold air.
The balcony and toilet are located at the other end of the room, and there is an independent shower room on the side. In order to facilitate the bath in winter, the factory also installed the bathing bully for them.
The most attractive thing in the room is a HP computer.
It was Yang Mao who spent 3900 yuan in the second half of last year.
At the beginning of this year, the factory received broadband for every dormitory, and returned to the dormitory every day after work. Yang Mao was almost all over the Internet, watching news, watching movies and visiting forums.
Referring to the installation of broadband, Yang Mao and his colleagues are "meritorious".
In December last year, Yang Mao and several post-90s villagers came to Lin Yao's textile industry to find salary and accommodation conditions good, but they just couldn't get online.
So they tentatively put forward the requirement of installing the Internet cable to the boss, but I did not expect the boss to really agree.
"These children born in 90s require internet access."
The company's boss, Gao Berlin, said that in order to retain workers, companies must meet their requirements.
In fact, since last year, high Berlin has obviously felt the difficulty of recruiting workers. In order to retain workers, in addition to raising salaries, enterprises must improve their housing and accommodation conditions. "Especially after the 90s, many young people are single children. They are very big at home and are unwilling to work out of work, and the conditions are almost impossible to stay."
In addition to the improvement in accommodation, Lin Na daily provides workers with free lunch and dinner, and the workers do not have to queue up for meals when they eat. The canteen staff will set a table of meat, two ingredients and one soup at a table for four persons, and the workers can pick up chopsticks and eat directly.
"This allows them to take a break at noon."
Gao Bailin said.
Like Lin no textile, in recent years, more and more Zhejiang enterprises feel that the past living environment has hardly attracted the new generation of workers. It seems that they have become the common standard of this generation of workers.
In Xiasha, the famous neighbourhood community is the largest residential area in Hangzhou economic and Technological Development Zone.
The new community with an area of 100 thousand square meters is currently home to nearly 10000 migrant workers, invested by the government and collectively owned by enterprises.
Each room has 15-20 square meters, 4-6 people, and an independent bathroom. Hot water, air conditioning, and Internet are available. The occupants spend only 40 yuan a month on water and electricity charges.
The community is equipped with canteens, reading rooms, gyms, basketball courts, Internet cafes, banks, and all kinds of convenience stores.
Unfamiliar people, it is easy to think of it as a new building.
More and more enterprises believe that it is the renting of such a residential community that the stability of the workers has been basically guaranteed.
More than 2500 yuan monthly
Painful pformation of enterprises
The post-90s migrant workers represented by Yang Mao, whether income or working environment, are enough to envy his previous generation.
But for the boss of Berlin, the rising wages of workers is a painful process he must face.
Yang Mao's Lin Na textile has been one of the international chain giant WAL-MART's foundry factories in China for many years. Its main products are pillows, curtains, feather quilts and so on.
In 2008, when the financial crisis broke out, with the sharp decline of orders and the accelerated pace of RMB appreciation, the labor cost of enterprises began to increase gradually, and the profits of enterprises were almost reduced to zero.
At this time, high Berlin, like many other small and medium-sized textile enterprises around Xiaoshan, is facing the choice of sticking to the original export OEM mode or developing the domestic market.
Gao Bailin is one of the few who choose the latter.
In 2008, Lin Na textile established a new home textile company, and introduced the Hongkong brand to attack the domestic textile market.
But at this time, many domestic textile enterprises engaged in export have chosen to expand domestic sales, and add a large number of well-known home textile brands in China. The difficulty of such pformation can be imagined.
In 2009, Gao Berlin independently launched a lightweight fashion down underwear product through a large number of market research and design and development. It has entered a niche market which has not yet had too many people involved, and has achieved good results.
Last year, the underwear of Lingyu textile feather feathers brand has already had a good market base in the East and North China market. The national order meeting just opened this year has attracted more than 80 dealers from all the major provinces in the country.
Looking back on the pformation in recent years, Gao Berlin said he was lucky.
"Several of my friends who insisted on making foreign trade orders lost 23 million yuan last year."
Gao Bailin said that last year, Lin no textile also received some foreign orders, but this year it was basically gone.
Compared to the previous WAL-MART OEM, although the other side is an international chain giant, but because of this, the profits of the OEM enterprises are devoured by such predators. If we encounter such things as financial crisis and rising costs, it is difficult for enterprises to persevere.
But for high Berlin, he adjusted the direction in time and found the right market by product development.
At present, although the employment cost of the company has increased by 30% compared with that of last year, it has invested a lot of money in the living environment and welfare of employees. Even though the price of raw materials has more than doubled this year, the profit margin of enterprises has increased by nearly half of that of WAL-MART.

Zhejiang's manufacturing industry
Lin no textile is only one of many small and medium-sized enterprises in Zhejiang. In Zhejiang, a big manufacturing province, Zhejiang has played a very important role in the global manufacturing industry for a long time by virtue of the pioneering spirit and cost advantages of the businessmen.
Now, with the change of international economic situation and the influence of RMB appreciation, labor cost rising and raw material price rising, many labor-intensive industries in Zhejiang are in an important pition juncture.
Behind this round of pay rises this year is a true reflection of changes in China's population structure and economic structure.
There are indications that the key factor supporting China's rapid economic growth in the past more than 10 years is that cheap labor has reached the critical turning point of supply and demand.
Speaking of labor, economics has two professional terms, one is the demographic dividend, that is, the labor age population is relatively large, the dependency rate is relatively low, creating favorable demographic conditions for economic development; the other is the turning point of Lewis, which is a turning point from excess labor to shortage, that is, the rural surplus labor force in the process of industrialization is gradually exhausted and can not be pferred to non-agricultural industries, which means the acceleration of wage increases.
Obviously, with the current round of wage increases, the unlimited supply of cheap labor in China has ended. The turning point of Lewis is approaching. In the next few years, China will inevitably usher in a wave of pay rise, and the cheap labor force has obviously been difficult to continue to become the advantage of "made in China".
Lin Yao textile has pformed from a simple export agent company to a textile enterprise with its own brand and sales channels all over the country. It may have been only partially successful. However, as a small and medium-sized textile enterprise with only 100 workers, this pformation may provide some valuable experiences for Zhejiang's small and medium-sized enterprises with limited financial strength.
For many small and medium enterprises in Zhejiang, the increase in wages will undoubtedly increase the cost of enterprises, but if the pay raise is in the general trend of world economy, there may be a whole new perspective.
The experience of Japan, Korea and other countries shows that the fast rise of wages will help to raise incomes, especially the income of low-income families with higher propensity to consume.
This is very much in line with the Chinese government's hope that the engine of China's economy can shift from export to the direction of domestic consumption. Wages rise and workers have more money to spend, thereby stimulating domestic demand, improving corporate profits and reducing dependence on external markets, thus forming a virtuous circle.
With the collapse of the western economies after the subprime mortgage crisis, China is almost forced to pform from "world factory" into "world market", in order to find a new driving force for economic development. To become a "world market", it must have a large consumer.
1 billion 300 million the great power of a large population can only become the second "world market" in the painful turn when it has successfully completed the second step of "let most people get rich".
Although this pformation can not be achieved overnight, it is necessary for Zhejiang enterprises to participate in the pformation process from "world factory" to "world market".
In this process, it is not only an economic examination paper, but also a touchstone of an enterprise's viability to increase the remuneration of the laborers, improve the residents' consumption ability and the overall living standard, and push China's industrial upgrading and pformation.
