Office Attire Is Also A Source Of Stress.

    2010/12/25 16:56:00 53

    Office Attire

Underpants, toe shoes, if you dress like this, you dare walk in.

    辦公室嗎?在市場研究機構益普索聯合路透的關于《職場著裝民意調查》中,分布在24個國家的8090人中僅有20%出頭的人有勇氣這么做,而在中國的職場人群里敢這樣做的人更是低于這個比例。

    Office workers

    Workplace

What should I wear in the house? Is there a strict one?

    Clothing

What are the dress codes and what are the requirements? What are the secrets of workplace attire?

In this survey, the international sample of adults aged 18 and ~64 and other countries aged 16 and ~64 were interviewed.

According to the survey, 26% of the office workers wear uniforms while they work, 34% of them wear business suits or formal attire, and the rest 40% wear casual clothes to work.

Liu Xiaokui, senior vice president of the Greater China region of Ipsos, pointed out that workplace dress is related to the whole industrial structure of the country and region, and the trend of formal dress will be more obvious if the third industry is the main economic component.

    Wearing and working efficiency

More than half of the respondents believed that it was more efficient to wear a more formal dress or formal dress at work than those who wear informal clothes.

In more than half of the 24 countries, more than half of 2/3 countries endorsed this statement.

But it is obviously a vague concept to conform to the professional regulations.

In Silicon Valley, creative people can work at random or even with pets.

And in such a rigorous profession like lawyers, it is always the appearance of a suit dressed in suits.

Although the survey did not survey the respondents in the whole industry, Liu Xiaokui's view that there is a clear relationship between the dressing and the characteristics of the industry.

"Similar business representatives, salesmen, and other industries that need frequent dealings with people are driven by professional needs, usually requiring business suits or uniforms."

He said, "those IT enterprises or creative enterprises belong to fixed office space, and they are more casual in dressing."

In his view, the inherent understanding of things has contributed to such a workplace concept, that is, the more formal it is, the more effective it is.

"When an industry is replaced by a symbolic thing, in the view of the world, this industry should be in such a workplace. If a company goes on an unconventional route, it will feel that the business is irregular or there are some problems."

Even so, those who wear informal work clothes have not been excluded.

In the survey, only 20% thought that casual clothes in the workplace were casual and opportunistic.

In this regard, Liu Xiaokui believes that in a sense, the workplace dress is to inform the workplace people are working in their own state, play a reminder role.

Of course, people in the workplace are not static. On average, 56% of them approve of the practice of wearing a shark skin swimsuit or a bikini suit when working on the beach or having a picnic. The proportion in China is just the same.

Liu Xiaokui thinks that the time when a suit of clothes can be present at all occasions before China has passed. Influenced by western culture, Chinese people's awareness of wearing different clothes at different times and occasions has become clearer.

    Wearing and professional class

For the time being, forget the dazzling skirts, high heels, leather bags and scarves in the queen wearing prada.

Did you find that as the young female employee in the movie Andy gradually found his place in the workplace, his clothes changed from the beginning of the student costume into a professional suit.

Is there a necessary link between workplace wear and career level? Respondents in this survey do not fully believe that only 37% of the respondents believe that casual workers in the workplace will not be promoted to senior management.

Although there are 64% and 51% of people in India and Saudi Arabia who believe that people in leisure wear should be promoted to senior management, there is no doubt that half of the respondents in other countries agree with this statement, of which China is 42%.

In addition, for different income families, their proportion of identification is also around 37%, but one phenomenon is that people with high academic qualifications agree with this statement, while the owners and senior managers and policy leaders agree that it is more than 40%..

This is related to a certain extent, but it is also a traditional way of thinking.

"High positions in senior management make people have expectations for them, which makes those who have career plans unconsciously have some dress requirements for themselves."

    Liu Xiaokui said.

As a result, an average of 66% of the respondents in the survey agreed that senior managers or those who run an organization were always dressed more formally than employees, of which China accounted for 78%.

Moreover, in terms of age, gender, family income and educational background, we have maintained an unanimous view on this issue.

On the other hand, since uniforms are mostly found in productive and service industries, the majority of respondents who work in uniforms have low family income and low academic qualifications, which reach 34% and 36% respectively, which is higher than the average 26%. Liu Xiaokui believes that this is also closely related to their non management and most front-line staff positions.

Correspondingly, people who wear business suits or formal clothes are mostly high family income, highly educated, senior managers or decision makers. The proportion of respondents is more than 40%.

Of course, in addition, an average of 38% of the office workers in the respondents clearly specified a day or a period of time for their employees to wear casual clothes at work hours. This behavior was especially evident among those under 35 years old or those with high family income and high academic qualifications, all over 40%.

In China, this proportion is as high as 58%.. "To a certain extent, it reflects a harmonious employment relationship between enterprises and employees, and has established a respecting relationship between the upper and lower levels."

    Liu Xiaokui emphasized.
