The First Textile Merchandiser Competition Was Held In Tianjin

On the morning of December 10th, Jia Changjian, a third year student at Anhui Engineering University, was busy ordering a long sleeved shirt from the United States.

In the recent survey of employment status of foreign trade students in Zhongyuan University of Technology, more than 85% of foreign trade companies require employees to have knowledge of foreign trade and products.

The contest is a test of the professional ability of students majoring in foreign trade and an examination of whether the teaching level meets the needs of the industry.

Zhu Chunhong, Dean of the school of economics, Tianjin University of Technology, told the correspondents that the competition is divided into two parts: theoretical knowledge and practical operation.

The theoretical knowledge part mainly examines basic knowledge, merchandising knowledge (textile and clothing), merchandising practice and basic knowledge of textile and apparel for students.

Xiao Lan, a leading teacher of the textile School of Donghua University, said that every year, the textile institute has about 60~70 students. Most of the students are employed in Shanghai where the school is located. Employers have very high requirements for students' foreign trade and textile knowledge.

In the past, many colleges and universities used case teaching or cooperation with schools and enterprises in the practical education of students. However, case teaching tended to be lagging behind, and school enterprise cooperation was also constrained by the wishes and financial constraints of enterprises.

After intense competition, Hou Xue man, Jia Changjian, Wu Ying and other 14 contestants won the first prize. The group first prize was picked up by the Donghua University, Tianjin University of Technology, Soochow University and Wuhan Textile University Foreign Trade and economic college.

"Let the participants truly experience every link and process in the foreign trade merchandiser, which is not accessible to us in our usual teaching.

If I graduate in this industry, I will quickly integrate into my work.

Jia Changjian, who won the first prize, said that this competition not only helped him consolidate his documentary knowledge, but also greatly helped his career in the future.

It is understood that this competition is based on the latest research and development practice platform for Foreign Trade Merchandising by Shanghai Yuan Heng Electronic Engineering Co., Ltd., which is the first domestic development and application of such software.
