Encounter: two bold creators

Three months before the Spring Festival,

In the studio, there is a rehearsal of the Spring Festival Evening "sparrow love" dance. A girl came to the door. She only watched a few dance clips and had a feeling of "overpower". The girl was an independent designer stone. "At that time, there was no clothing design and no scenery at all. It felt different from the Spring Festival Gala. But if you are there, you will be moved by that strong personal style."

With the creator, I feel at ease at that moment. "Teacher Yang came over and asked me directly, or would he try to make a suit?"

In fact, before the stone, Yang Liping once found designer Lawrence Hu, including Fan Bingbing's "snow seeking plum", "Danfeng Chaoyang", "Dragon Robe dress" and Zhou Yun's "cloud brocade" dresses, all came out of his hands. As a result, the two people could not match the style, and Laurence also felt that the time was too intense. It was impossible for two months to make up the costumes of the Spring Festival Gala, and the cooperation ended.

One week after the meeting, stone handed the design to Yang Liping's hands. So Yang Liping boldly made the task of peacock clothes to the stone that had never been dancers before, and stone also boldly took the task that seemed impossible in time.

If you don't know her dance, you can't make the clothes she wants.

This dance combines too many elements, both naturalism and expressionism, including the unique language of the original voice dance and the elements of modern dance.

Peacock needs a more powerful "gorgeous and solemn". This is a story about the growth of life, not only birds but also sentient beings, both natural and spiritual.

In order to make the dress and dance blend in, the stone thought a lot of ways, began to consider the use of yarn, also considered the shape of the feather on the top of the yarn, but the stone felt that all the artificial materials in this dance appeared "unreal, too impetuous", and Yang Liping always encouraged her, "we have to do what others have not done", the last two people have finalized the feathered decoration of a unique skirt, "showing the balance between rebellion and grace, a pure beauty that always exists in the natural wilderness."

Creation: nervous and breathless

The design is finalized. This time is only two months away from the Spring Festival Gala. "Time is quite a challenge, but her works are very tempting to me, so I seem to be fearless too."

The inspiration for clothing comes from the wild peacock in nature, a combination of wild and graceful creatures.

Natural peacocks are only two kinds of blue and green. Blue peacocks are very rare. Stone has seen 7 feather samples including peacock hair before making, and finally chose the best goose feather and ostrich hair in the stage space as the theme material. "Using peacock hair is visually lacking in color and body tension."

When looking for feathers in Guangzhou, the foot of the stone sprained, "if my foot hurts, I have to work."

Because feathers are too light, pportation has become a difficult problem. For fear of damaging the shape of feathers, stones have been stuffed with feathers and carried back to Kunming.

The skirt finally used four feathers, including ostrich hair and goose feather, and was dyed seven colors by halo. Every feathers were artificial halo.

The Stone said with a smile, "this dress is absolutely painstaking work!" because the collection and dyeing of feather materials took at least 4 weeks, and later production became more intense.

The difficulty of making a dance skirt with feather is not only to arrange the sense of beauty, but also to "stand", and finally use 200 thousand feathers, and the skirt has a skirt of 3 meters long. For its physical balance, every piece needs to be hand stitched symmetrically.

"At that time, I had a total of three manual workers and two production staff, and those two months were really busy from morning till night.

In the 15 square meters container workshop temporarily built in Jin Dingyuan art community, sewing machines began to ring in the morning until the dead of night.

"During that time, every day I breathe hair. Everyone's nostrils are green. They're not clean."

After the formation, peacock clothes made several modifications, and on the evening of the Spring Festival Gala, Yang Liping won the last costume.

"A feather skirt is full of her big suitcase.

Ten kilograms of heavy feathers, heavy skirts, it may be difficult for ordinary people to wear it, but Miss Yang is dancing in it. The skirt is alive on her body, shaking in an inch. I think Mr. Yang is very brave.

Grow clothes from childhood

Reporter: did you like clothes when you were young, or did you become addicted to Sichuan later?

Stone: from childhood, I was a stubborn Taurus, and I decided to go all the way to the end.

When I was little, I liked to paint clothes, first I painted villains, then I painted beautiful clothes.

When I was in grade six, I painted at least several thousand costume drawings, and each set was different.

I also changed the heads of textbooks and history books into fashion models.

On one occasion, my deskmate came up curiously and said, "really nice, isn't this dress design?" I was the first to know the word "dress design".

Reporter: after graduating from University, he entered the "exception" as a designer?

Stone: This is not true. After graduation, I went straight to Guangzhou, worked in Dongguan, worked as a designer with low salary, and then entered the "exception" to make costume design.

Reporter: from the "exception", from the design assistant to the project manager, I am very good. How did I quit my job?

Stone: I like free creation and love my hometown.

Reporter: it seems that you opened your home called "one week" shop in 2009, and began to make your own clothing brand "Hidden Forest hidden forest". What was the situation then?

Stone: ha ha, at that time, except for me, there were only two workers who had more than 10 years of work experience in charge of sewing clothes. The design, purchase, fabric and tailoring were all done by myself.

Reporter: I heard that you have a design room built on the roof.

Stone: the studio used to be on the roof. I like it very much. It's very close to the sky and overlooks the world.

Ha ha, I like this kind of inexplicable sense of superiority.

Reporter: Why did I take the name of "hidden forest"?

Stone: when I created this brand in 2009, I liked the poem's name, and it was more in line with my state.

"Hidden forest" is not easy to find, but abundant enough.

I hope I can live in such a world and grow slowly.

Reporter: will there be many difficulties in being an independent designer?

Stone: I do not find it difficult. In Yunnan, which is suitable for slow growth, I am particularly satisfied with the status quo, the freedom I choose, the creation I love, the environment I create, and I am satisfied!
