The Beijing planning exhibition hall mainly displays the past, present and future of Beijing's great city. Become a stage for academic exchanges between experts and scholars at home and abroad. The exhibition contents include: the exhibition area of the ancient city of Beijing, the protection and exhibition area of Beijing historical and cultural city, the introduction of Beijing's previous master plans, the business district and the Olympic central area. There are about 1200 pictures and 10 million words in the exhibition. There are more than 20 publicity videos reflecting the contents of each part, and 44 touch screens are available for enquiries. In order to fully demonstrate Beijing's history of more than 3000 years of construction and 850 years of capital building, the Beijing planning exhibition hall has used the latest means of expression.

The reliefs of the old city of Beijing, hung on the wall, are made of traditional tin bronze materials, of which the royal city is gilded. The relief is 10 meters high and 9 meters wide. It records the overall pattern and characteristics of the city of Beijing in 1949, including 118 thousand houses, 6 million trees and a large number of alleys and rivers and lakes.

Three layers of Western District of Beijing ancient city change exhibition area, through a large number of photos, historical map, the Han Dynasty well ring, Ming and Qing Dynasty City brick, Wang pillar and other physical objects and standard quadrangles, all kinds of gatehouses and other models, showing the history of the development of Beijing city since the stone age to modern times.

The four floor has a future home designed by the famous British architect Zaha hate. She subverts the sense of hierarchy in the traditional architecture with lingering curves and so on. The traditional factors such as floor, wall, door and so on disappear in the building structure.

The four storey stereo video hall can play the urban simulation film and the wide screen film realized by the virtual reality technology. At present, it plays the "immortal city" which briefly describes the history of Beijing's 850 years of capital building. Its screen height is 5.8 meters and the arc length is 20 meters.

This model is located in the three level and 1300 square meter urban planning exhibition area, and is made according to the ratio of 1 to 750. The 302 square meter model of the first phase was completed by more than 200 people in 6 months. In order to facilitate the viewing, the pavilion also set up more than ten telescopes. This model records the Beijing urban planning with the central axis road, Chang'an Avenue as the two axes, CBD Central Business District, Zhongguancun and Olympic Park as the three major functional areas. On the periphery of the model, the tempered glass floors are made of aerial photographs of Beijing.

The two floor of the planning exhibition hall has eighteen district and county exhibition areas, showing the future planning of 18 districts and counties in Beijing respectively. All districts and counties have their own different booths, and they are also arranged according to the characteristics of this district. There is a virtual simulation working system in the exhibition room of Chongwen district. The audience can operate the steering wheel of the car and tour the 28 streets of Chongwen district. There are pedestrians, vehicles and buildings in the street. They are designed according to the real shape, which really shows the scenery of Chongwen. The audience can also pull up the steering wheel and have a bird's eye view of Chongwen from the air.

Beijing city planning exhibition hall not only records Beijing's urban construction and academic exchanges, but also serves as an important medium for public participation in urban planning and promoting Sunshine Planning. The planning exhibition has four ways to involve the public in the planning process of the city.

First of all, in the planning exhibition hall, a computer touch inquiry screen will be set up so that the masses can learn the dynamic information of project planning approval and urban planning in time.

Secondly, some major planning changes will be announced in time in some areas to be supervised by the masses.

Exhibition hall scale

The exhibition hall has four floors, with a floor area of 16000 square meters and a display area of 8000 square meters. It includes one and two temporary exhibition areas (2100 square meters), VIP conference room and 3D multi-media hall. The exhibition area is 1000 square meters, the two floor exhibition area is 1100 square meters, and there are 180 seats in the 3D media hall.
