In the old cotton picker, the three wing comb needle is used, and even some modern cotton pickers have sawtooth handles. The purpose is to make cotton blocks become smaller and become cotton bundles in this location, and further remove fine impurities and neps.

The carding machine is fed to the area.
There are two ways to feed the needles of the carding machine: cotton feed and cotton roll feeding: when the cotton feed is used, the cotton bushes must maintain a uniform and uniform mass density to produce uniform cotton sliver.
In the feeding mode of the cotton roll, the cotton roll is made into fixed length and fixed weight, and is kept within a certain precision range, so that the cotton can be fed evenly.
Quality requirements for opening and cleaning process
According to the experiments, the quality of cotton bundles was roughly 0.1mg (equivalent to 16 fibers gathered together) when the cotton opener was used to open the raw cotton. The repeated loosening and processing did not significantly reduce the quality of cotton bundles, but increased fiber loss and damage.
The cotton cleaning unit can only remove impurities from 40%~70% in raw cotton.
The specific results are determined by the impurity content of the raw cotton, the machine spacing and the production environment.
Raw cotton contains more impurities and more impurities.

Because the impurity removal efficiency of modern carding machine is about 80%~95%, the impurity removal efficiency can reach 95%~99% by the open cotton cleaning and carding machine. Finally, the impurity content in the carding strip is only 0.05%~0.3%.
The carding machine also removes dust gathered on the fiber, which is removed when the needle is combed.
