As a specialized "selling" to enterprises. clothing The platform for designing graduates, behind the fashion week of college students, is the embarrassing situation of the disappearance of China's garment design talents education and the development of the industry.

The loss of graduates with poor jobs

As China's garment industry embarked on the road of transformation, garment design education has gained unprecedented opportunities for development, and the growth momentum of relevant institutions and specialties has mushroomed. In Tianjin alone, there are currently 7 colleges and universities specializing in the training of clothing professionals. However, when more and more graduates go out of school, the creativity of these young people often becomes feeble in the face of brutal market competition.

Xiao Wang has graduated from the clothing design major of a college in Beijing for 3 years. Among her classmates, most of them are still "picking up a lot". "Most of the students who design in the enterprise are not very good. They have little time to work in the enterprise, and few opportunities to go up, so they have no room for their abilities and ideas."

Nowadays, the requirements for talents in garment industry have been upgraded from "artisans" who attach importance to professional skills to "versatile talents" who know design, craft and market.

Wu Haiyan, Dean of the school of design, The China Academy of Art, admitted that although higher education is running at the front end of the industry, enterprises pay more attention to technological innovation and application, and it is not easy to combine talents with industrial clusters.

Huge gap, high-end talent enterprise training

On the one hand, the graduates often run into a wall. On the other hand, China's garment industry presents a huge gap in design talent. According to statistics, there are more than 5000 design talents in Ningbo alone. Moreover, compared to men's wear and professional wear, women's wear and children's wear design talent gap is more obvious.

Secretary General of China Council of Asian Fashion Federation, Chinese clothing Designer Su Baoyan, chairman of the association, said that with the expectation of innovation and brand driven by China's fashion industry, the unprecedented scale of industry demands more and more talents. According to the survey in recent two years, clothing industry such as Shenzhen and Wenzhou has developed to a certain scale. The gap of the employment of garment enterprises is very obvious, especially the demand for high-end designers.

In addition, the clothing industry was beset by the embarrassment of inventory in 2012, and it also raised the threshold for designers. Some garment enterprises began to redesign the clothing for the coming season, so that designers could combine the latest fashion trend to transform the garments. This is more difficult than designing from the beginning.

Wang Jinqiao, chairman of Beijing Ge Qipao Co., Ltd., told reporters that "from the perspective of enterprises, we do not have much time to wait for the long process of solving talent problems. Therefore, enterprises can only strengthen their ability of" retraining talents "and establish an efficient employment mechanism.

Game between technology and art talents

For a long time, China's clothing enterprises and institutions are quite different in understanding the two words of "clothing". Enterprises think that "clothing" is technology, and in Colleges and universities, "clothing" is more inclined to an art. Obviously, the two attitudes have created two totally different views on talents.

As for graduates who are more employable and faster to adapt to their jobs, foreign fashion design institutes are obviously more experienced. Take the Ma Lan & amp; GE Institute of fashion and design, Italy as an example, there are more than 80 job promotions jointly held by schools and enterprises and design studios each year.

In Wang Jinqiao's view, Chinese design institutes should make more efforts to help students link up with enterprises.

       Point of view collision

Short time is hard for professionals.

Clothing education is the basis for cultivating all-round ability of talents, but enterprises use a specific person. Although students learn all kinds of knowledge, they can not become professionals in a short time. Education and business are quite different fields. It is unrealistic for talents to take them. Colleges should also teach students adaptability.

       Companies have taken education batons.

Students are only a blank. If they can become successful designers, enterprises must take the baton of talent training. Even if this student's design idea is suitable for the corporate culture, we must carry out "reeducation" so that we can better exert their abilities.

Colleges should not just focus on creativity.

Some colleges overemphasize creativity and style, and the students they cultivate are more suitable for studios. Colleges and universities should not be closed behind their doors, and their positioning should be more closely linked with industrial positioning.

Let the choice be done before graduation.

Colleges and universities should allow students to consciously choose the enterprises that are suitable for their development before they graduate. Colleges and universities need to expand their coverage. In the "re education", we form the pattern of designers' mutual evaluation of work through "old belt new", so that students can give advice to others' works.
