Hongkong Clothing Faces Greater Challenges
The forty-fifth Hongkong Fashion Festival autumn winter series hosted by the Hongkong Trade Development Council and the 12 Hongkong international fashion collection were held last month at the Hongkong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 1800 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions displayed their latest brand series, garment products and accessories and related professional services at the fashion festival. The Hongkong Trade Development Bureau hopes to jointly create the brightest business card of Hongkong Fashion Festival and the two great events of fashion. More opportunities for new designers
The "Hongkong gorgeous show" held on the first day of the Hongkong Fashion Festival and autumn winter series is regarded as the most spectacular show in Hongkong fashion week. The "gorgeous show" invited Madrid based Amaya Arzuaga, Paris based Calla Haynes, mainland China's Masha Ma, and Hongkong, China's Liu Zhihua (Henry Lau) the four international fashion designers show their design works, and by Ji Lili, Yao Shuyi, Jia Jing, Liu Dan and Korean model Lee Hye Jung and other leading show.
It is not easy to put together four different styles of designers to create a show: Madrid's Amaya Arzuaga often shows bold colors and novel tailoring. The latest series of inspiration comes from butterfly wings and Japanese origami technology; Paris's Calla Haynes Chang Congxian has been inspired to design many rich print patterns every quarter, which are romantic and avant garde; Masha Ma, based on Paris and Shanghai, always likes to highlight the clipping of works with white; elegant design and simple tailoring are her style; Hongkong Liu Zhihua's latest series moves ordinary girls into Hollywood stories to show the gorgeous transformation of ordinary people.
And the four YDC designers who have set up personal brands including Lian Baozhen (Elizabeth Lin), Mim Mak, Zheng Yihua (Eva Cheng) and Jiang Dehua (Wal Kong) show their latest works. In order to show the design power of Hongkong's new generation, the organizers also put the prize winning works of YDC in the exhibition hall of the exhibition center, 1D hall and D-mop in central for nearly half a month.
"Change" in Fashion Festival
After the two major fashion shows in Hongkong, the Hongkong Trade Development Council released data on the fashion show in second days. It showed that the exhibition in four days (13 to 16 January) attracted nearly 38000 buyers from 92 countries and regions. The activities during the two fashion shows attracted more than 21000 people. "Buyers are mainly from mainland China, Japan, the United States and Taiwan, China." Zhou Qiliang, vice president of Hongkong's TDC, said that the number of buyers in traditional markets such as Australia, Singapore, Spain and Canada all recorded a double-digit increase, reflecting the optimistic attitude of buyers in these traditional markets. In emerging markets, buyers in Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Turkey also recorded double-digit growth.
In addition to providing platform for the promotion of new products and springboards to overseas markets for local fashion companies and designers, Hongkong's TDC is also working hard to develop the local market, such as the launch of a series of "Hong Kong in Fashion" activities aimed at ordinary consumers, including 52 partners, including well-known fashion brands, shopping malls, cafes and restaurants, to promote Hongkong local fashion and local design with "fashion street shooting competition", shopping mall free image design and professional photography services.
