    New fashion designers: Zhang Xiang


    Interviewer: it's not easy to be in the fashion circle. So where did your personal designer start? What made you associate with design?


    Zhang Xiang: I think the influence of my parents is bigger, because my father is a design engineer. When I was young, I often saw him drawing drawings. Then my mother would make some knitted handicrafts, and I saw her turning a piece of yarn into a dress. It was amazing.


    Reporter: who is the most influential person in the art field? Do you have a favorite designer?


    Zhang Xiang: the most influential thing should be when I was studying in San Francisco, I taught my knitting designer MiDoRi Sargent. This teacher was once a Japanese brand Chole. Knitwear Designer He was very strict with me and encouraged me at the same time, so he had a great influence on me. My favorite designer is Phoebe Philo, the design director of CELINE. Because Phoebe Philo worked as a design assistant for seven years under her sister Stella McCartney. I think this is very difficult. She has been a design assistant for seven years before she ushered in her explosive spot. For a designer, precipitation is very important, and this is also a kind of designer's attitude that I appreciate very much.


    Interviewer: fashion and fashion are constantly changing. How can you keep your creativity fresh and inspiring?


    Zhang Xiang: it should be constantly charging, which is very important for designers. For example, if you keep reading, you accumulate life experiences, people and things you touch, and you can draw inspiration from all these experiences. You can also pay more attention to the release of some designer's work, and always grasp the direction of the trend is also very important.


    Reporter: you have used golden section ratio and trigonometric function, combined with ancient Greek architectural principles to design, in order to achieve the highest form of beauty. I think this is very interesting. Can you talk about it?


    Zhang Xiang: the highest form of beauty stems from the concept of ancient Greek philosopher Platon. Platon divided the society into material and spiritual society, lower class and upper class. He thinks that science, medicine, mathematics, aesthetics and architecture are interlinked. All social studies reflect a form, the highest form. The highest form is the projection surface of various disciplines. Therefore, in order to achieve the highest form of beauty, we should find a conjunction point from the projection of science, mathematics and aesthetics, which is the highest form of beauty. Of course, the highest form of beauty is only a hypothesis, which is hard to achieve and can only be kept close to each other.


    Reporter: fashion is a living display. What do you want to show in your design?


    Zhang Xiang: what I want to show more is my way of life and the concept of life, because simplicity is very important to me. The simplest thing is also the most difficult to express.     Reporter: the expression of Chinese fashion in Chinese culture is the consensus of the design community. What elements do you think can be carried forward in fashion? Will you try it yourself?


    Zhang Xiang: China's culture is broad and profound. There are many elements worth learning from. But I think these elements can not be concrete things, they can be some spiritual ideas. For example, poetry and song in Tang and Song Dynasties, or the artistic conception expressed by some famous paintings, these spiritual aspects can be used as reference for Chinese elements to show in our design.


    Reporter: let's talk about the style and characteristics of dldz.


    Zhang Xiang: dldz is my current position. brand It can be summed up in eight words, that is, "fashion classics, elegance and simplicity". It also has a conjunction with my original design. The color of this brand is elegant, its style is soft and fresh, it is characterized by the processing of printing, and the penetration of soft tone in the whole design. It shows the feminine soft and refreshing characteristics on the whole. At the same time, it also hopes to guide the fashion trend of urban women.


    Reporter: creativity is interactive with the market. How do you see the relationship between designer's artistic pursuit and market needs?


    Zhang Xiang: Although many designers pursue the design like the western style, it may be impractical for the Chinese market, but it can not be short of this part. So, I think there are three aspects to consider. The first aspect is that you must grasp the direction of the fashion trend. In the second area, you need to know where your guests are acceptable. The third is your awareness of the market. For designers, this is a very high requirement. You should have the ability to appreciate art, and at the same time have practical experience. Besides, you need to know your customers well.


    Reporter: Although the domestic market is vast, many people still think that it is necessary to create independent designer brand in Europe. Only in this way can international recognition be achieved. Is it because domestic fashion industry is not easy to inspire designers' creativity, or is it difficult for fashion education in China to cultivate creative potential designers?


    Zhang Xiang: China Latest fashion Education has started relatively late abroad, and many domestic designers are learning from abroad. It is undeniable that fashion education in Europe and America is superior to domestic ones. But many schools in our country are working with foreign institutions and hope to improve the overall level of fashion education. I do not quite agree with local designers to create independent designer brands in Europe. China's apparel industry is at a stage of development. Compared with the relatively mature and stable European and American fashion industry, there are more opportunities in China. If a new generation of designers wants to make a difference in the fashion industry, China is actually a good starting point. If you can combine market and creativity to a certain level and be accepted by the Chinese market, then you are not far away from the world stage.
