Adidas Announces Appointment Of Two New Executives To Reform Management
Beijing time on October 8th evening news, Adidas said on Wednesday that the company has appointed two new executives, which is part of its management reform plan, which aims to enable the company to respond more quickly to the trend of consumer development in order to keep pace with Nike, a bigger competitor.
Adidas said the company has appointed Karen Parkin, a 49 year old British Parkin, as chief human resource officer. She will take office in November 1st and report directly to Herbert Hainer, the company's chief executive.
Parkin joined Adidas in 1997 and has been in charge of the company's global supply chain since 2013. He has been in charge of North America in 9 years.
Mathias Marasa, former chief human resource officer of Adidas, has resigned at the end of July, Matthias (Malessa).
Adidas also announced that Jan Brecht, 42, will join Jan Bridget's supply chain functions in his position as chief information officer. He will report to Glenn Bennett, executive director of global business operations (Glenn Bennett).
Blakey Te joined Adidas in 2009. He served on Daimler, a German automaker.
Until then, Adidas has been criticized for its slow response to rapidly changing trends in fashion and sportswear.
Adidas said today that it hopes to consolidate the supply chain and information technology functions together to help simplify and speed up the company's response process.
Adidas said in a statement: "sports products and lifestyle market are always changing, so speed will become a major advantage to ensure that the group's products are delivered to consumers faster."
After Adidas issued a series of earnings warning, Haina is facing pressure from investors.
To this end, in the past year, he has reorganized Adidas's top management, appointed Eric Liedtke as the global brand leader, Roland Archer (Roland Auschel) as the head of global sales, and Mark Kim (Mark King) as the head of the troubled North American business, Eric Liedtke.
The three executives have been working with Haina to develop a new strategic plan, which is expected to be launched early next year. In addition, they have reorganized their management team and appointed 11 managers directly reporting to them in recent months.
Haina has been the chief executive of Adidas since 2001. His employment contract with the company has been extended to 2017 earlier this year, so that Adidas has enough time to make succession plans.
But some investors believe that the change of Adidas executives may happen earlier than that.
