Carrefour China Logistics Director Liu Shunqing said that the Carrefour West Logistics Center will cover nearly 40 stores in the west side of Carrefour and undertake Carrefour's commodity supply in Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Yunnan. The whole western logistics center has an area of 48000 square meters, and the first phase warehouse has an area of 24000 square meters, with 25000 pallets of cargo throughput. It is reported that the Chengdu logistics center will start distributing Carrefour stores in Chengdu from the end of May, and will complete the whole distribution of Carrefour in the middle of August. The construction of logistics centers can greatly improve the shortage of stores and make goods more complete." Tang Jianian said that before Carrefour did not build its own logistics, the supplier needed continuous supply of stores every day, resulting in great distribution pressure and high logistics costs. After Carrefour's self built logistics distribution center, the supplier only needed to distribute goods to the center of logistics, greatly reducing the logistics cost. In addition, due to centralized management and distribution of goods, reducing storage and management costs of stores, the operation cost of Carrefour stores was also optimized.
Liu Shunqing introduced in detail that in order to improve the efficiency of logistics center personnel, the west district logistics center started the voice picking system, and the accuracy rate of picking up to 99.997%. "Normally, a tally worker is familiar with the product for two weeks before it can work independently. Through the voice command of the Vocollect voice system, the picking clerk can learn in three hours and pick up the goods independently."
