brand
We can return to the most basic and essential things rationally.
"Life does not need so many rules and regulations. Wearing clothes is the least thing to stick to."
Q: you once told foreign media, "let the world know that Chinese clothing is no longer just a low price competition, and it is no longer just Copy". So what do you think of the development of China's fashion industry in recent years?
A: actually, this sentence was told to the media in 2007 when I went to New York fashion week.
At that time, I was young and frivolous, and went to New York with confidence.
I don't care much about external evaluation, praise or criticism. I just want the world to see what Chinese designers are like.
Looking back now, a show is just a show.
In my opinion, the real recognition is not the praise of the one or two media, but the fact that the whole world really began to pay for the design of China, and this is also the direction for me and my industry.
Today, China has become an important market of the world's fashion industry, which is an opportunity and a challenge for us.
At the same time, it is also an era of amazing speed of change. Technology and mobile Internet have had an unprecedented impact on your way of life.
In fact, I like to change and embrace change.
No matter how technology, consumption patterns, channels and other factors change, I want to do is more simple and pure - that is to do every piece of clothing, whether design or quality control.
So, I want to thank such an interesting era, so that my brand and I can return to the most basic and essential things rationally.
Q: as the earliest designer and designer of clothing brand in China, what do you think of the current consumers?
A: in my view, the younger generation of consumers is growing up, leaving designers with no burden.
Because in the process of communicating with young consumers, I find that they are good at expressing their likes and dislikes directly.
That is to say, today's consumers are more rational and direct, and know what they want.
At the same time, the channels of communication between consumers and brands are more and more extensive, convenient and diversified. For designers, we need not guessing, but we can get feedback directly. This is indeed an incomparable advantage in any era.
Q: we know that fashion is a "flower without a hundred days of red" industry. If you don't pay attention to it, it will be eliminated by the times. Almost every designer is thinking about how to stick to his style and lead the trend. How did you do it?
A: I think, as a designer, we must always keep curious about new things.
The audience of CABBEEN brand is a fashionable young person. In fact, I don't need to cater for them. What I want to do is to keep sensitive to fresh information and fashion, keep trying to keep things in line with their way of life and thinking mode, so that they can design their works naturally.
At the same time, I think that the disappearance or burying of some brands is not a bad thing. Naturally, after the survival of the fittest, what is left behind is the works that really stand the test of the market, that is to say, the market is left to the truly talented designers.
This is great for designers and consumers.
After all, clothes are not necessities, no one is missing. What is missing is a truly fashionable and unique heart. This is a challenge for designers and is also an excellent opportunity for talent.
Q: you are happy and innovative, such as cross border micro film "Maple Street 33", pboundary design modeling space, etc., is this your own personality or the competitive pressure of the industry?
A: actually, I didn't do all these things out of commercial considerations, but I really liked them.
For example, micro film is because I want to share my growing story with you.
For example, our CABBEEN 33 pavilion has shapes, music, desserts and flowers.
In fact, the CABBEEN 33 pavilion presents the way of life that I really like.
In other words, the CABBEEN 33 hall has fulfilled my entire vision of ideal life, and I hope to share it with our consumers.
Q: some people say, "know a person from his circle of friends", do your friends give you new inspiration and inspiration?
A: actually, I have many friends from different fields, such as Jia Yueting, director Yang Wenjun, actor Jackie Lui and so on.
Because the industry is completely different, we will give each other many new ideas and information.
For example, Jia Yueting invited me to their "eco car business" conference. Their subversive thinking and innovative spirit actually touched me a lot.
As a creator, it is very important to collide and stimulate each other from different fields.
Q: what are your usual dress styles and principles?
A: of course, the style of CABBEEN brand is my personal style. There is no doubt about that.
However, I usually wear clothes in a lot of ways, and do not stick to a fixed brand or style, nor do I wear my own brand.
The point is that I have to constantly try different things, which will constantly give me new perspectives of feeling, inspiration and even looking at the world.
Of course, choosing clothes according to different occasions is also very important.
For example, in public places, I always wear my own brand, which is a sign and an attitude.
In my opinion, clothing should consider personal style, figure, occasion to attend, and even mood, so we can understand ourselves and understand our environment and lifestyle, so that we can really control our clothes.
It's the same old saying that "the right and the best", but many people are often misled by the trend and confused.
Q: what are your favorite design elements or single products this season?
A: I think that the most precious thing that people encounter with clothes is the moment of excitement.
Because of that moment, clothes have souls, and people get indescribable happiness in their clothes.
For example, this season's African totem element I like very much, because it is both interesting and connotations, simple and rich.
In addition, there are many breakthroughs in the season, such as the integration of jackets and suits, shirts and jackets.
Life does not need so many rules and regulations. Wearing clothes is the last thing to stick to.

Q: what are the effects of speed, strength and passion on your fashion ideas and attitudes from professional boxers, racing drivers to fashion designers?
A: I think it is a fearless challenge and a daring attitude. My work is always conveying such an attitude.
For instance, when I first came out, I tried to make a waistline on a man's shirt.
Today, men's waist line is very common, but at that time it was a bold attempt, because twenty years ago basically only women's clothing needed to make waist line.
It can be said that the spirit of daring to challenge is what these movements have entrusted to me. In another way, maybe it is the nature of my love of challenge, which has made me fall in love with these sports and has also made my design style.
Q: we know that you are a fanatical running fan. Why do you like running? What changes does running bring to your life?
A: first of all, running is a lonely sport. In a long marathon, I only have to talk with myself, and I enjoy this loneliness. I think it is a rare opportunity to get along with myself.
Secondly, running makes me look at the world from a different angle. Many times we take a look at different kinds of pportation, while running is to change the angle and mood to recognize the familiar environment again. This is a wonderful thing.
Finally, this is a very simple sport. Wherever you go and whenever you have the right clothes and shoes, you can sweat and run.
And running not only gave me a healthy body, but also made me learn calmly, patiently and persistently.
In fact, running is a process of thinking many times. Many of my decisions or design directions are clear during running.
More importantly, I feel that life is like a marathon, not a 100 meter race, without having to pursue a short lead.
Q: what is your typical day at this stage? What's your ideal life like?
A: as a designer, the typical day is not at all bright, and the busy and trivial work is full of every ordinary working day.
For example, we should review all kinds of fabrics, accessories, style drawings, read the trend report, open large and small meetings, and even listen to financial statements. Yes, a typical day is very ordinary and busy, but I think ordinary accumulation has created extraordinary.
Q: now people like to call you "Mr. CABBEEN". You also have countless honors and titles. What kind of changes has this kind of fame brought to you?
In A:2002, I came to Beijing for the fashion week for the first time. The first show was called "subversive fashion".
At that time, people called me a cutting-edge designer, and I was not afraid of anything. I didn't care about other people's opinions.
Later, however, various honors have been obtained. These honors seem to me to mean more responsibilities.
More and more people are paying attention to, so that every publication of my work carries more meaning, and I am also more willing to share my thoughts and works with others. I think this is my biggest change.
Q: you can say that you have achieved many dreams that many people can't reach. Do you still have dreams?
A:, to tell you the truth, everything is just beginning.
This era has changed so fast that new things have sprung up.
And I am always curious about the world.
All new goals and new ideas are possible, and I always cherish the passion for dreams.
