Peng Yanli said that the annual production of the industry will basically maintain the level of 2015, and domestic sales will increase slightly, and export sales will not be able to reverse the negative growth trend. Yang Xiaoxiong, chairman of Nanjing wool market, believes that the external situation facing the wool textile industry this year is complex, and stable operation has become the top priority of many enterprises this year.

"Global wool production (including fat wool) decreased by about 37.9% in 1990 compared with that in the year of 2015/16. Meanwhile, more and more textile fibers can replace wool, and woolen fabrics gradually become luxury goods, losing their price competitiveness."

"Encourage enterprises to emphasize contracts and keep reputation and improve their business environment; secondly, enterprises should follow the market rules and identify suitable development and operation directions; secondly, they should increase the advantages of promoting wool fibers to consumers and raise the demand of terminal market.

In view of whether the market demand and supply of wool have reached a critical point, Chris Wilcox, chairman of the Information Committee of the International Wool Textile Organization, believes that China's economy has entered a period of pformation, and the development of the retail industry is very slow.

At present, the output of the world's wool textile products is at a low level, the supply of wool is short, the price of wool raw materials is high, the demand for both sides is cooling down, and the price of wool and other textile fibers is too high.

Moreover, from September 2015 to now, there has been a severe drought in parts of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Sales of clothing retail industry have been slow, the Australian dollar and New Zealand dollar have been strong, China's demand for raw wool has declined, while Europe is on the rise. The output of ultra-fine wool remains at a high level, and the stock in the industrial chain of wool spinning industry has been reduced and maintained at a low level, and the price of wool is extremely stable.

He predicted that the reduction of wool quality in Merino will be the biggest threat to the wool textile industry in 2016/17.
