Why Do Street Travelers In Russia Not Care About Wearing Fake Goods?
fashion
The problem of fake goods in the industry has always been a focus of attention at home and abroad.
It has been reported that in 2017 alone, there were more than 77 million 200 thousand dollars (about 517 million yuan) counterfeit on the streets of Dubai.
Luxury goods
Be investigated.
But there are far more active markets than Dubai.
market
It is also booming.
According to the world clothing and shoe net, in Russia, almost every city can buy fake goods. The indoor market of capital Moscow is often filled with all the common "fake suspects" brand merchandise: Supreme, Balenciaga, Gucci, Off-White, YEEZYs, Supreme x Louis Vuitton, among which there are some bags, purses and belts wrapped in bags and signs and letters.
Their prices are not cheap - a pair of Balenciaga Triple S fake sports shoes cost nearly $200, and of course, they are much cheaper compared with the prices of genuine brand goods.
Russia's interior ministry has issued a statement that the proportion of counterfeit goods in the domestic market is up to 90%.
According to its Ministry of economic development, the annual output value of the Russian fake market is more likely to reach four billion to six billion dollars.

In addition to the more general "fake Gucci" and "fake Rolex watches", the Russian counterfeiting industry has a lot of achievements. It has sold millions of "fake oil paintings", "fake Moscow Kremlin passes" signed by President Putin, and even the purebred cats in pet shops may be picked up on the street.
But what is interesting is that Russians do not seem to care much about the true or false products. Because fake prices are cheaper, they are more popular with consumers than real ones.
In this regard, the trend website Highsnobiety has also specially filmed a series of documentaries to explore the story behind the Russian fake market.
"There are many big companies in Russia who have been involved in counterfeiting and profiteering," a leader of the Russian consumer association said, "many counterfeit goods are made by foreigners in Moscow, which are not only flooded with Russian markets, but also sold overseas."
A large part of these factors are caused by the historical reasons of Russia.
On the one hand, nearly 30 years after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Russia's borders are open. Although the country itself has strict control over the border, it has little to say about its neighbours.
For example, Kazakhstan borders on the vast majority of black market goods, and the free trade agreement signed with Russia means that goods can enter Kazakhstan from Russia without inspection.
On the other hand, Russia's fragile economy, international sanctions and low wages also keep the demand for counterfeit goods active.

In the history, until the Moscow Olympic Games held in 1980, Western goods entered the market for the first time, so at the end of 80s, counterfeiting industry first appeared in western style garment factories.
The clothing factories that produce counterfeit goods also follow the fashion trend of the world. For example, the counterfeit Levi 's Jeans began to become popular in the early 1990s. By the middle of 1990s, all the counterfeit clothes were gorgeous Italy luxury products such as Dolce&Gabbana and Versace.
In many ways, the counterfeit goods industry will reflect consumers' consumption intention to a certain extent.
Although Russia has a variety of restrictions on consumers, its communism has failed to stop Russians from seeing the western consumer goods through the album covers, magazines and Olympic Games.
Now, social media is adding more products to Russian consumers and factories that produce counterfeit products.
For many Russians, in the past, hip-hop street clothes were unreachable, not only because of the economy and sanctions, but because of the exclusiveness of their fashion market.
Therefore, the fake products originally produced in Russia also have different missions from other local fakes to fill commercial gaps.
Highsnobiety's fake market documentary says that Sergey Didkovskiy, one of the oldest ice shoe shops in Russia, has run a shop in Moscow after running another shop next to an old ice skating rink in Moscow. He often finds counterfeit shops that sell his brand Prodvizhenie.
Obviously, the counterfeit clothing market is booming in Russia, but this does not mean that the Russian government is not aware of this, but the Russian authorities are concentrating on the fake products that pose a threat to public safety.
David Aylen, executive partner of Gowling WLG, Moscow, is a Russian copyright law and anti counterfeiting expert. He said that up to 30% of the over-the-counter drugs in Russia are counterfeit, and the parts of the stolen car also pose a risk to the public. Compared with the counterfeit clothing brand, the threat to national security is almost negligible.
But it may also be due to Russia's fake market. Now the young people in the streets of Russia can be said to be different from their peers around the world. In recent years, the designers of the former Soviet Union have attracted the attention of the international community to the old Soviet bloc.
Moscow Gosha Rubchinskiy and Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia have attracted the interest of the global fashion media. The media likes to call this new wave of innovation "post Soviet" aesthetics.
It is undeniable that counterfeit goods must be resisted to any country, but for Russia, the phenomenon of counterfeit goods does not seem to have any advantages at all. At least now, they can make some young but poor Russians integrate into the global youth fashion culture just like their peers elsewhere.
