London Fashion Week Continues To Emerge As A Group Of Cutting-Edge Designers.
2019 the autumn and winter London Fashion Week is closed this week. The Designer Showrooms exhibition during the fashion week this year continues to showcase many new generation potential designers from the UK and around the world.
The current Designer Showrooms exhibition is held at the The Store X Museum in London. There are 50 British and overseas designer brands exhibiting from February 15th ~19.
On the whole, this exhibition is more compact than previous arrangements, which is restricted by the impact of the British retreat to the fashion industry. Secondly, it is also subjected to orders competition pressure from other important fashion centers such as Paris.
But this still does not affect the showroom's own attractiveness and attraction. Here, exhibitors can reach many potential brands that are still in the early stages of development, and listen to the brand stories shared by the founders.
Printing element
Rose Danford-Phillips, a Native American designer, featured her prints in the first season.
In recent years, Richard Quinn, a British designer, promoted the great trend of printing in the UK. Inspired by Rose Danford-Phillips, colorful printing styles will become the main elements of her future design.
According to her introduction, she was born in a gardener's home, and she was covered with colorful plants from her small home. This became the main inspiration behind her design.
"The colors in my design have been inspired by nature, and I have been fascinated by the colors that once lived in Amsterdam, Holland for a while.
I often visit some respected masters of flower painting there, and these paintings also give me a lot of inspiration.
Rose Danford-Phillips graduated from Royal College of Art in 2017 (Royal College of Art). All the design works are produced in England (except for the exquisite jacquard knitwear produced in China), a coat sells for 1500 pounds, and a skirt sells for 900 pounds.
Asked if he was worried about Britain's return to Europe and the fashion industry, Rose Danford-Phillips's answer was: "although it's really hard to start a business at this time, I and other fashion designers don't know what will happen in the future, but I can't wait to die."
Street trend
For the first time in London Fashion Week showroom's South London street brand Joel Boyd, founded two years ago, has sold products on the Internet.
The designer of the same name thinks that joining showroom has always been his dream, "this is a good learning opportunity".
"Although every designer wants to show or do static displays, if you don't have fame, it means there is no audience," he said.
So I think we need to work out in showroom for a few seasons. "
The brand focuses on men's street wear, featuring its broad cut and prominent logo. The entry-level pricing (about 50 pounds, the highest 600 pounds) attracts many buyers.
Although the price of Joel Boyd is lower than that of other exhibitors, designers refuse to move closer to fast fashion.
He said, "the fashion I want to do is to live longer than to drift with the tide."
According to the designer, his customers are mainly young men aged 18 to 35.
He admits that although it is hoped that guests can buy their clothes from head to toe, there is not much in reality.
"What I am doing now is to hope that Joel Boyd will become a few items that will be selected in the wardrobe of the guests."
Joel Boyd regards Britain's off Europe as an important node in the changing environment of the fashion industry. He said: "if I want to make exports in the future, I am afraid it will be even more difficult."
Loose cut and sustainable fashion
A major trend of this season's exhibition is hand tailored regression and sustainable fashion.
The same designer brand Daniel Crabtree for the first time has the greatest impression: the lightness, comfort and fluidity on the cutting, and the details of the handwork to improve the design's personalization and appearance as a whole.
In addition, some of the knitted products of the brand are also made of materials made of recycled Jersey and stockings.
Daniel Crabtree introduces that his designs are all classic style men's clothing, but in particular, they are very loose in tailoring, giving people a very relaxing and relaxing feeling.
The brand is looking for fabrics from Britain as far as possible. They use wax cotton and Liz wool from Northern Ireland.
Considering the time and effort of manual cutting, the wholesale price of the brand is about 200 pounds, with a higher ceiling.
Daniel Crabtree worked part-time at Selfridges in department store during school days.
This work shows him that many overseas consumers are willing to pay a higher premium for minority design.
Retro inspiration
The brand new Drag and Drop founded by Ukraine designer Yuliya Grazhdan in Paris is inspired by Joan of arc. The latter is also known as "the first feminist" by the designer.
The brand was founded in 2016, and now has completed sixth series. It was only exhibited in Paris. It was invited by the British Fashion Designers Association to participate in this fashion week exhibition.
As a matter of fact, the inspiration of the brand has always come from the very vivid characters in history and movies.
The theme of this season is "powerful women" combined with the elements of Joan of arc and New York in the 80s of last century (for example, Robert Maplethorpe's photography and fitness star Lisa Lyon).
Yuliya Grazhdan said that the exhibitors had received positive feedback and hoped to increase their popularity in the UK market in the future.
At present, the brand business has been involved in Asia and the United States, and has not yet entered the UK.
She said that Britain's departure from Europe could lead to the outflow of fashion designers. "I have several friends who are considering pulling out of London," she said.
Fair trade jewellery
The jewellery brand Pascale James, which has been exhibited many times, was co founded by the original BBC producer and researcher Antonia Pascale and zoologist Christopher James.
They want to make some more creative jewelry accessories.
The brand's jewelry uses recycled and fair trade precious metals, such as silver and diamonds, with emphasis on nature and environment.
Even the processed fruit skins are used to convey environmental information with these elements.
The founder said, "once I was cutting the oranges, I thought we might be able to make some interesting things with orange peel.
We hope these accessories will not only be interesting but also create business value. "
The two founders have completed all the product design and production in a small studio in London, which is now only sold online, and will also sell some custom products.
Their works have been on display for several seasons at showroom in London Fashion Week, and have also participated in the exhibition in Paris.
The price of Pascale James's product is about 70 pounds (a silver ring) to a big 1000 bracelet.
The founder believes that Britain's retreat from Europe may bring great volatility to the cost of metal materials.
According to "gorgeous ambition" this month, the 2019 autumn winter London Fashion Week, Chinese designer brand Jamie Wei Huang (Huang Wei), Ryan LO (Luo Zihao), XU ZHI (Chen Xuzhi), Huishan Zhang (Zhang Huishan), Xiao Li (Li Xiao), and Zhang (Li Xiao) were selected as the official schedule of this fashion week.
