Polyester Chip Production Capacity Continued To Expand Significantly In 2020.

Under the epidemic, the pace of polyester chip production has slowed down, but has never stopped. At present, the new production capacity of PET chips is near 375 thousand tons (the polyester filament device is calculated according to the 10% sides of the side cut). It is estimated that the production of polyester chips will be expected to start near 670 thousand tons in the second half of the year. By the end of 2020, the new production capacity is expected to reach up to 1 million tons.

Two thousand and twenty In the first half of the year, although the production of some factories was postponed due to the suppression of the epidemic situation, in fact, the expected completion in the first half of the year was basically completed. The new production of polyester chips could reach 375 thousand tons / year (including Huaya technical transformation 200 thousand, Lixin 30 thousand, Yi Jin 30 thousand and other device side cutting capacity). Compared with the 500 thousand tons in the first half of 2019, although the capacity growth rate has slowed down, in fact, the slice profit of the first half of the year is generally higher than that of filament yarn. Many new production lines of polyester plant have been elongated for a long time, and the actual slicing is difficult to estimate.

As the largest downstream chip of polyester chip - sliced spun filament yarn, it is not enough to describe it with "deep water" in 2020. Since the development of melt direct spinning in 2000, the slicing industry has gradually shrunk. In 2015, about 9000000 of the polyester chip production capacity shrank to about 5000000 tons, and with the gradual expansion of the various fields of slice use, the number of polyester chips increased to more than 8 million tons in 2018. In the first half of this year, sliced spinning filament (Xiao Shao) Zhou Jun started up to 34%, falling to its lowest level in five years. As shown, the 3-5 month is the time when the order is the largest and the load is the highest. In the same period of 2019, the average starting point reached 56%, and this year fell to 45%.

Since June, some individual slicing manufacturers have opened the holiday mode. It is expected that after the middle of this month, the start of slicing spinning will continue to decline, and many small and medium sized polyester chips still have "oversold" orders to maintain. It is estimated that the enterprise inventory will reach a neutral position in June. In the past years, there will be demand for replenishment of autumn and winter orders in August, plus polyester chips in the first half of the year. In the three quarter, the drop in the load may not be great, and the impact on the production schedule is relatively small.

Therefore, in the second quarter of this year, the polyester chip industry has a distinct feature. When the price of polyester chips is relatively high and relatively stable, low price goods are springing up, which is more or less a blow to the polyesters enterprises. Through the third quarter, it is estimated that the inventory crisis of polyester enterprises can not be ignored at the end of 2020.
