On September 5, the entries of the 24th "Humen Cup" International Youth Design (Women's Wear) Competition were preliminarily evaluated in the Fashion Publishing Hall of Humen Convention and Exhibition Center. After strict selection by 5 judges, 30 groups of entries were shortlisted.

Since June 11 this year, the organizing committee of the competition has started soliciting contributions from home and abroad. By August 19, 1876 design contributions had been received from 13 countries, including Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Romania, Switzerland, Russia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and 30 provinces, cities, and regions, including Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, and Hunan, as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, These works have diverse connotations and styles, which well express the theme of "fusion and inclusion" of this "Humen Cup" competition. In particular, the injection of scientific and technological elements makes some works reflect a sense of the times and the future. At the same time, the integration of artistic elements and commercial elements reveals the practical functions of some of the entries.

In order to make the selection of this competition fully reflect the professionalism and authority, the sponsor and the organizer specially invited Liu Yang, Wu Xuekai, the winner of the highest honor "Golden Summit Award" of Chinese fashion designers, Lin Jinliang, Jin Xuan, Xu Hua, one of the top ten fashion designers in China, to make a preliminary evaluation of the entries. The judges carefully watched the works, analyzed the creative ideas of the contestants, discussed the creative characteristics, and paid attention to the combination of the creative consciousness, commercial consciousness, artistry and interest of the works. Finally, 30 groups of excellent works were selected as finalists.

After the preliminary evaluation of the 24th "Humen Cup" International Youth Design (Women's Wear) Competition, 30 groups of outstanding works will be publicized for a week. At the end of the formula period, the contestants will begin to make ready to wear clothes and participate in the final of the "Humen Cup" Competition.

This competition is sponsored by China Textile Information Center, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Textile Industry Branch, China Garment Association, China Garment Designers Association, Guangdong Garment Industry Association, Guangdong Garment Designers Association, Dongguan Humen Garment Industry Association Undertaken by Dongguan Humen Fashion Designers Association. The event has been held for 24 consecutive times.

Judges opinion

Liu Yang:

The theme of this competition is "harmony and tolerance", which can enable designers to give full play to their imagination and integrate art, design and practicality into their works, making them eye-catching. We have noticed that some contestants are very serious, and they fully display every detail of their works by elaborately making collections of works. Such designers are excellent. It is very gratifying to see that the "Humen Cup" has had a great impact in China and even in the world, and has attracted more and more domestic and foreign players. The overall level of this year's entries has improved by one level compared with previous years. The 24 consecutive "Humen Cup" selection is not only an encouragement to designers, but also a positive echo of the development of the fashion industry. This competition is very meaningful to promote the development of the whole fashion culture and the cultivation of designers.

Wu Xuekai:

In this competition, we can see that these young college students and professional designers have more positive challenge ability than in previous years when they face the future for innovative expression, and can try new things or multiple possibilities through bold exploration. The competition pursues commercial expression and design creativity, but encourages those new ideas, new ideas and various possibilities to play. In this competition, I saw that many young designers have different views on the world, understanding of consumers, and new cognition of fashion. This is the new information and new attempt revealed by this competition to show a new attitude, which is a very good direction and change.

Lin Jinliang:

The theme of each "Humen Cup" competition has been deepened and the evaluation criteria are different. Because fashion innovation is a distinctive performance, and weeding through the old to bring forth the new is the most basic power. Every time I participate in this activity, I can see different works. No matter the works from home or abroad, the contestants can dare to innovate. I think it is very important to find a balance between innovation and business. The theme of this competition is "harmony and tolerance", and many works give full play to this theme. There are also many works with scientific and technological elements, which make people stand out.

Jin:

Most of the entries this year have achieved the integration of China and the West, ancient and modern, as well as the spiritual integration between people, the integration of various materials, and the integration of modeling, color, creativity and other aspects. There are also some very good ideas in this competition, such as integrating Chinese Dunhuang elements into the creation, combining blue dye elements with modern elements, which is very fashionable, in line with the trend direction, and has quite deep cultural heritage. I am very optimistic about this competition. The contestants have performed well in the competition. Some contestants have very good effect pictures. If the quality of materials is improved, the works will be more brilliant.

Xu Hua:

Through this competition, it is found that the overall performance is diverse in style, but also well reflects the theme of "integration and tolerance". What is a good work? The first criterion of good works is "aesthetic feeling", that is, the aesthetic feeling produced by the fusion of various elements. After watching the works of these contestants, I think their expression techniques are becoming more and more advanced, giving full play to the aesthetic sense of design. At the same time, the artistry and practicality of their works are also very well integrated.

Specific rewards are as follows:

1. Award prizes, trophies and certificates to winners. (1) One gold prize: 150000 yuan, cup and certificate;

(2) Two silver prizes: RMB80000 for each prize, cups and certificates;

(3) Three bronze prizes: 50000 yuan for each prize, trophies and certificates;

(4) Ten excellent awards: RMB 20000 for each award, and certificates will be issued;

(5) Winners: issue certificates.

2. The award-winning works will be published in professional newspapers, magazines and online; The finals will be recorded and broadcast by relevant TV stations.

3. (a) The Organizing Committee shall be responsible for the transportation fees of the finalists. Including: 10000 yuan (RMB) for European and American players, 5000 yuan (RMB) for Asian players [Note: 3000 yuan (RMB) for Chinese players];

(b) The Organizing Committee will provide free board and lodging for the finalists during their participation in Humen;
