Learn Business From Xu San And Sun Wukong Two

    2008/9/10 0:00:00 17

Moderator: just like the two entrepreneurs I mentioned just now, some requests or suggestions are made to their employees on the part of some donors as managers. What do you think of the scope of management?

Li Shanyou: if you are an entrepreneur, you can decide how much money your company will donate. As a person, you can decide how much you donate, but for your employees, you can take the initiative.

I don't think you have the right to ask your employees to do something.

I don't think this is proper.

Taking KU6 as an example, we are a start-up enterprise, and in the process of starting a business, the whole KU6 company has not yet been able to make great contributions to the disaster area. I myself, my wife, my children, and we have made contributions to the disaster area.

But for our employees, we are also advocacy, and do not compel or absolutely require employees to do something. You have no right to ask, which has exceeded your management authority.

    That's how I understand it.

As for the management of "the middle school as the body, the western learning as the use", the host: in your passage, the three sentences are neither historical nor Sinology, and you feel deeply studied in Sinology and history.

I have seen some information, which is a report to you. You have put forward a set of management thoughts combined with Sinology and management science, which is called ethical management. How should we understand the meaning of ethical management?

Li Shanyou: because I have been engaged in management work, including early human resource management, and later in my company as editor in chief and senior vice president.

Later, I studied systematically MBA education in Central Europe, and I was always interested in it. Later I taught myself about Chinese culture and history.

We will find that in the enterprise management, we used to emphasize a lot of methods, such as MBA education, which will teach you how to do human resources management, how to do financial things, how to do other things, accounting or whatever, and methodology, but there are a few things on your mind foundation.

    Host: what we call "Tao".

Li Shanyou: Yes, what we call "Tao".

The aspect of "technique" is very well understood. We learn something from western MBA, but we can hardly learn from the west by "Dao" because their religion is different from ours and their cultural backgrounds are different.

Chinese people really need their own beliefs in the management of enterprises or in their own lives.

I think this "Tao" may have to be obtained from Chinese traditional morality and history.

There is a very good saying, that is, "middle school is the body, Western learning is used". We can draw lessons from the management method, but we are very good in terms of values, corporate culture and spiritual sources.

Every nation has something deep inside.

"Tao" is the right thing to do. "Skill" is the thing that enables you to do a good job and do it right. I think when the two combinations come together, people will do a right thing and do well at the same time.

It is also the ideal of my life, no matter in terms of efficiency or effectiveness.

I hope that in the future, we can combine Chinese history with some skills in management, and we can share something with you.

KU6 host: KU6 was founded in June 06, and was founded by you after leaving the Sohu.

What was the reason or what kind of thinking made you make such a change?

After all, there are a lot of people who want to start a business, but there are still few people who can really put their comfortable positions in the top management position to do so.

    Li Shanyou: Yes.

It may be "success". The career direction I set for myself is that I worked as a human resource for seven or eight years in the early days. I was positioned as a professional manager, and then worked as a Sohu editor in chief for five years. Sohu is basically responsible for the operation of the whole network.

I think the next generation may be a complete entrepreneur. Of course, my last goal in life is to be a lecturer. This is one of my plans.

As a professional manager and career manager, I have reached a peak. Being an entrepreneur is an experience.

In the future, I want to be a lecturer, including what you mentioned just now, hoping to become one of my own and have some insights.

If you let the lecture tell me what I don't believe and what I didn't experience, I don't think I can speak it or feel embarrassed.

In my experience, there is a shortage of entrepreneurs. I hope to use my belief method and reason to tell a company to come out. If the company succeeds, when it comes to giving lectures to the people next to me, when I share with others, I am steadfast and not lying. Second I am very confident that what I am talking about is effective. It should be done well, from professional managers to entrepreneurs.

KU6: it was founded in June in 06, compared with other peers, but it was the most profitable one last year. In your opinion, where is the difference with others?

Li Shanyou: after I came out, I was in the field of video, and I believe in the development of video.

Bill Gates said a word, I believe very much, is that in the next five years, people will not sit in front of the TV to see the content.

This sentence has a deep influence on me.

I came out late and the development opportunity of the whole industry came out late.

In 06 years, two hundred or three hundred of them were doing this. And when I came out, I paid $200 million to do it.

Because I did not do it, I am sorry to ask people to ask for money. I want to do it myself first, and then talk about attracting funds.

So I took very little money myself.

Some people say that you don't want to play in the video sharing industry without one hundred million. I pay two million out of my own pocket, which is a lot for me, and of course the whole industry is very small.

I do not know whether the red sea or the blue sea is very competitive. We have found a suitable road for development.

There are three points that we are not quite the same as our competition partners. The first point is called making money together.

Our industry is uploaded by Web2.0 users. Why do users upload this video to you instead of uploading it to other places?

What we propose is that if you upload it, we can divide it with you.

We are the first one to come up with it.

Host: when you start your business, you already have this thinking?

Li Shanyou: No, as a successor, there is no fame. Why do people give you the content?

We have done very late, others have done very well, this difficulty is what we must solve, and the way I think is such a way.

Our upload volume is the largest in the industry. We have attracted many high-end original authors. This strategy has led me to become the leading industry in terms of content and original authors.

The second things we do, I say, divide with you, but I have another difficulty, I have no money, no advertising revenue can be separated from you, and I want to make profit.

Then one thing happened. Many advertisers like its products implanted in video clips and circulated. This is called implantable advertising. It happens that we have many professional and semi professional authors who organize them to help customers customize.

Host: after you upload, how do you process the content?

    Li Shanyou: No.

For example, Erie yogurt, when users do video, implant this yogurt ad.

In fact, your content is advertising, advertising is a pattern of content.

We see the movie "no thief in the world". The mobile phones, cars and bank cards used are all advertisements.

We call it UGA, which is a successful model.

Last year, 25 million of the revenue came from the industry.

We call it creative people. This solves the second difficulty: income.

Host: what are the motivations for netizens to do this?

Li Shanyou: we are the Web2.0 platform, the right hand is the customer, and the left hand is the original author. When we help customers pull some lists, we netizens help them do these video works. If they are selected as the best works, they can get the bonus.

At the same time, when he planted the advertisement, he spread the bonus when he was spreading on the Internet. So he has income and a lot of income. Now he has earned more than one hundred thousand yuan on our Internet.

Originally the Internet video's red man is a state of no organization, through which can be organized and commercialized.

This thing helps us achieve the problem of business income.

The third difference between us is dancing with giants. In the early days of small websites, it is difficult to increase traffic volume. We have made strategic cooperation with many giant websites. Especially after working with Baidu, they do not share videos. They help us with resources and make our own video sharing websites, so traffic is rising very fast.

In general, it is through sharing and advertising, and dancing with giants.

Host: this mode is relatively demanding for our technical support, including payment issues and video author one to one management.

Do you think there is a big difference between managing this kind of video sharing website and making a portal with you?

Li Shanyou: the difference should be quite large. When we go to the portal, our mode is Web1.0 mode accurately. Many of our editors choose the content from the traditional media, and we put them in the right place.

The object of my management is editors, and Sohu has about three hundred and five editors.

What we are doing now is Web2.0, no content is generated by ourselves, and one hundred percent of content is uploaded by netizens.

We are not in charge of what we are looking for, but we find people who can produce content, gather them together and put their contents in us, so management objects have changed a lot.

Host: Tencent network is also a gateway. I feel that Tencent's book of changes is not only a 1 mode. This earthquake report, in the overall operation, more valuable than traditional planning and topics, the effect of polymerization is more obvious than that of type 2.

Li Shanyou: Yes, you have passed a lot of content through blogs and videos. This is also a way to prove that Web2.0 is a very viable way.

For our KU6, the whole operation is centered around Web2.0.

Host: have you ever considered the impact and competition of portal to video website?

Li Shanyou: I find it hard to say that it is a shock.

Video industry will be very big in the future, and it is just starting now. Therefore, it is necessary to compete and expand properly to expand the whole industry.

When the whole industry is big, everyone will find their own position to develop in the future.

I am very optimistic about the industry.

I think that at present, all roles in different fields are doing what they should do. When I was at the door, Sohu had fierce competition with sina, NetEase and Tencent. This healthy competition, and finally, the industry became bigger, and everyone's share in it also increased. This is a benign thing.

The video will be big in the future, but of course it is a very small position now.

Host: do you advocate the idea of "middle school as the body, Western learning as the use"? Can you give some examples in the management of KU6 network?

Li Shanyou: it's hard for me to give specific examples. I often give lectures in the company, and I will give you a lecture every month, including the Analects and so on.

It's hard for you to say that when I say that sentence, it can produce immediate effect or something.

Culture is not something that can solve problems at once, but his influence on people's values and thoughts is a long-term influence.

Host: are there any distinctive features of our company based on state regulations?

Li Shanyou: This is not a good idea.

If you go to the airport, you will see a lot of books like "post black", which teach you 36, but I am really fed up with such things.

In an enterprise, it is very annoying and very bad if a colleague or a colleague, a colleague or a leader, a staff member or a company is a confrontation or a state of power.
