Managing Stories: Guarding Holes And Waiting For Rabbits

In the past, there was a famous story called "wait for a rabbit". The story goes: a farmer working in the field suddenly ran out of a rabbit in the grass and ran into a big tree in the field.

Because the rabbit ran very fast, the rabbit's neck was knocked down, so the farmer easily got a good meal.

From the second day, the farmer squatted in the field to wait for the rabbit to hit the tree.

As a result, the field was barren, and he did not wait for second rabbits to hit the tree.

This story was told by the Song Dynasty. Over the past one thousand years, the farmer who had waited for the rabbit was regarded as a lazy person who was a dream for nothing. He laughed and satirize the world.

When he first saw this story, Fan Yuming also felt that the farmer was really stupid. He regarded a casual incident as if he wanted to see it, and eventually he could not only get the rabbit, but the land was deserted.

Later, I worked and went into business, and I was in touch with business management. When Fan Yuming saw this story again, he always felt that there was something worth thinking about and thinking about this farmer.

Until something happened later, Fan Yuming was completely enlightened.

Fan Yuming, who once had a strong interest in aquaculture, returned to Inner Mongolia from Jiangsu in 2001 to set up a breeding farm in his hometown.

When a row of cowshed was completed, Fan Yuming received a phone call from a friend in Jiangsu. Friends hoped that Fan Yuming could return to Jiangsu to help him form and manage a company, and Fan Yuming agreed.

So he handed over a farm that had not been built to a relative and took his own job in Jiangsu.

On the west side of Fan Yuming's farm is a forest and grassland. There are many rabbits in the forest and grassland.

There was a small hole in the west wall of the farm. Once after a snowfall, Fan Yuming's relatives found traces of the rabbit in and out of the hole.

He estimated that it was because of the snow that rabbits could hardly find food to eat outside, so they ran from the hole to the yard to find food.

Fan Yuming's familiarity is very familiar with rabbits' habits. He knows that rabbits come in once and surely will come in. And a rabbit comes in from here, and other rabbits follow it's smell.

So he built a net on the side of the courtyard at the entrance of the cave.

In that winter, he used the net to catch 16 rabbits at this hole.

After listening to the story of "guarding the hole and waiting for the rabbit", Fan Yuming thought of one thing he had experienced personally.

When Fan Yuming was a child, he saw a white winter wind blowing after the snow.

After the wind stopped, Fan Yuming found a small bird killed in a wire not far from his house. Fan Yuming estimated that when the birds were scraping the white hair, they could run into a wire and run to death because they could not see the surrounding environment.

Fan Yuming took the dead bird for a long time. He ran home and took a small basket. He ran to the village quickly and went down a row of poles.

When he came back, Fan Yuming had a small basket of big and small birds in his basket.

After the family cleaned up, they ate a delicious meal.

The story of "guarding the hole to wait for the rabbit" and "picking birds by line" gave Fan Yuming an inspiration, and I began to re examine the "wait for the farmer".

That farmer is really stupid, but he is not stupid to take accident as necessity, but stupid. When accident happens, he does not grasp this possibility and create conditions to make this contingency inevitable.

Fan Yuming's relatives, who were familiar with the habits of rabbits, grasped this point by using the chance to find out the situation of the rabbits coming and going through the holes in the wall as an opportunity, and took corresponding measures so that he could get 16 rabbits in one winter. When Fan Yuming grasped the shrub and white hair, the birds might be able to find the opportunity in a wider range because they could not see the surrounding environment and hit the wires.

Fan Yuming and his relatives in the gate were actively searching for their rules after the accident, and they could create conditions or seek for such conditions in a more extensive environment, so that they could get a little success by chance.

The fundamental reason for the failure of the farmer's failure is that he did not really understand the law of rabbit hitting the tree, nor could he create the conditions on the basis of this law voluntarily so that chance became inevitable.

Fan Yuming said: in our daily operation and management activities, as an operator or entrepreneur, we must exercise our ability of observation and analysis. We can grasp the rules in many accidents and create conditions to make this contingency inevitable.

Such a contingency becomes a rare opportunity, and success may start from now on.
