Hongkong TDC Creates "Design Gallery" &Nbsp; Taobao Opens Online Shop.

The "Hongkong Design Gallery", created by the Hongkong Trade Development Council, takes the "Taobao mall" of the "Taobao Taobao" enterprise retail platform, which is the most expensive online sales in the mainland. The online store (opened in April 30th) provides all-weather shopping and fashion information platform for the huge market of the one billion and three hundred million mainland population in China.
The "Hongkong Design Gallery" shop carefully selected 100% of the Hongkong design boutique, including fashion apparel, jewelry and clocks, household items, gifts, stationery and Hongkong Designer Series, allowing mainland consumers to experience the most fashionable lifestyle of Hongkong whenever and wherever possible.
The Hongkong design gallery was established in 1991 by the Hongkong Trade Development Council (TDC). The aim is to promote Hongkong's premium brand and design products to local consumers and buyers around the world. The store is located at Hongkong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Hong Kong International Airport.
In June 2009, the first Hongkong branch of the "Design Gallery" opened in Beijing Dongfang Xintiandi to help Hong Kong businessmen open up the domestic market.
With the opening of online stores, the work of "Hongkong Design Gallery" to promote the design of Hongkong products will enter a new stage.
In recent years, the Hongkong Trade Development Council has been actively promoting Hongkong's premium brands and original designs to mainland consumers. It has held large fashion shopping exhibitions in several mainland cities, attracting thousands of visitors.
Online shopping is not restricted by venue and time, and merchants can introduce the latest products to the National Consumers faster. In view of this, Hongkong Design Gallery has launched Taobao online to offer an all-weather and long-term open Hongkong brand sales platform to help Hong Kong businessmen expand their domestic market more effectively.
According to a survey conducted by the Hongkong TDC, more than 40% of the unmarried middle-class consumers aged 20 to 44 years old have the habit of shopping online.
The statistical report on China's Internet development shows that the volume of online shopping pactions grew at an average annual rate of 86.4% from 2005 to 2008, reaching 125 billion yuan by 2008, accounting for about 1.15% of the total retail sales in the whole country.
To expand consumption, the Chinese government also hopes to promote the development of online sales. The goal is to increase the proportion of online shopping pactions to the total retail sales of social consumer goods from less than 2% to 5% in 2015.
Therefore, the mainland's online shopping market has huge room for expansion.
According to China's online shopping survey in 2009, mainland consumers purchased most of the items online for clothing and home accessories (61.5%), followed by cosmetics and jewellery (23.5%), books and audio-visual (20.2%), and communication digital products (13.2%).
In line with the online shopping habits of consumers, the products sold by the "Hongkong Design Gallery" online shop are mainly divided into four categories: fashion dress, jewelry and clocks, home life and gift stationery. The first line includes jewelry brand Zhou Shengsheng, Zhou Dafu and Cosi Moda, fashion watch 2Can, MA.AM and Vidus Weida; clothing brand Sugarman; high-quality ceramic tableware "love pottery music", creative home products "SURA ancient Olympic", and CASS Duke crystal display.
Other brands such as My Jewelry; clothing brand Ascot Chang Shi Ge, tcn:y, chick mark, imaroon; Ya Fang Ting bedding, opal cosmetics series; Oasia (Oregon Scientific) electronic health products will also debut.
In addition, the cartoon character ANDOX & BOX, which is designed by popular idol Andy Lau, and Chocolate Rain of Hongkong famous designer Mai Yaduan (Prudence Mak) will cooperate with the "Hongkong Design Gallery" online shop to design exclusive products for online shopping customers.
