    In a project environment, team members usually rely on or are limited to certain ways of communication. In fact, other ways may be more appropriate, more convincing and more effective.


    Although most organizations regard information communication and collaboration as the top priority, many organizations do not formulate and implement corresponding strategies to support project team communication, especially failing to provide guidance and best methods to help the team choose the most appropriate one from a variety of communication media.


    If a company builds a multilevel communication system for the project team, providing different media for different needs will increase productivity, help solve problems, reduce tension and create a closer and more durable relationship among participants.


    First of all, face-to-face communication is the most effective.


    Face-to-face communication is the most effective way of communication, because both sides can understand not only the meaning of speech, but also the meaning of body language, such as gestures and facial expressions.

    A recent study by Harvard University and Columbia University showed that face-to-face meetings can attract 38% of the attention.

    Instant messaging: instant messaging, referred to as IM, is a kind of text communication that is close to real time. It can be carried out between two or more users.

    The difference between it and ordinary e-mail is that its information communication is completed immediately, and "dialogue and communication" is quite simple.

    Because the participants are "friends list", instant messages have a strong community atmosphere.

    In many cases, this atmosphere helps to establish effective communication areas.

    To send uncontroversial information to a large group of people, IM is an effective way of communication.

    But it is not suitable for all occasions or work relationships.

    Two people who are not very close to work may feel embarrassed about this intimate real-time chat, while the two who try to solve the problem may think that the inherent flaw of instant message hinders the process of solving the problem.


    Audio conference: the telephone is convenient, fast and simple to use, plus today's voice mail function. It has great flexibility in communication. Even if the other side can not answer the phone, it doesn't matter.

    Compared with e-mail or instant messaging, the most prominent advantage of audio conference is that participants have more substantive contact.

    At the audio conference, participants can use the pause and modal particles (hum, uh) to tone up the topic by changing the tone, pitch or volume, and increase the tone of the audio itself.

    Unfortunately, the biggest drawback of audio conferencing is that the attendees are not visible.

    A recent survey showed that only 23% of the audio conferences were engrossed in meetings.

    Generally speaking, audio conferencing is very effective in some commercial applications, but it also makes it easier for participants to do other things irrelevant to meetings.


    Network conference with audio frequency: Internet Conference adds certain video information, enables participants to watch PowerPoint demonstration, browse the network under the guidance of the host, or communicate with others and discuss documents.

    Network conferences are different from network audio or video. Participants can share files through browsers while attending remote meetings.

    It is a relatively cheap and effective team cooperation technology, and has many unique features that can enhance team meeting experience.

    However, similar to online conferencing and audio conferencing, participants are invisible.

    Therefore, participants tend to "busy themselves" in the process of meetings.

    Internet conferencing and audio conferencing are not ideal choices if we want to establish cooperative relationships or promote team work.
