    Liu Yihua: The Strength Of A Crochet.

    A crochet, a group of lines, is the nearly 50 of this year, Liu Yihua, who is full of passion, created all the props of countless handwork works, from dance teacher to stage costumes, and finally to one's heart and soul to run his own studio. Liu Yi Hua has gone through 30 years.

    It is precisely for these 30 years that she has found inspiration from the T stage show at home and abroad. She has captured the spirituality from Van Gogh's masterpiece sunflower, extracted the material of flower design from Yang Liping's exquisite dance, and intercepted colors from the blocks of the same building in Yunnan, and even Liu Yi Hua has made a beautiful name for every piece of her works.

    Today, Liu Yihua is busy wielding crochet with his dozen members of the studio in the office of polyong square in the business circle of Chongqing's Monument for Liberation.

    Reporter: what is the process of starting a studio?


    Liu Yihua: since I was a teenager, I began to learn sweater and linen. In 90s of last century, I had a chance to go to a custom-made shop in Chongqing to buy wool for my own sweater. That is the work that made the boss shine.

    At the beginning of this cooperation, I didn't expect my sweaters, scarves and decorations to be popular with customers. I wanted to create a brand of my own.


    Reporter: did you make a big decision from cooperation to your own business?


    Liu Yihua: I have done the stage costume design before. This is also the reason why I dare to make this decision. Especially I know that apart from those ordinary sweaters, creative and innovative works are my best skills, so I know what kind of styles can be welcomed and what kind of color matching can have a good visual effect.


    Reporter: the technical difficulty of hand weaving does not seem so great. Your work will soon be copied.


    Liu Yihua: Yes, especially at that time, when most women used knitting as a hobby, when they first opened a shop in Datong Road, Chongqing, some customers came to me to give her some new style designs, and then they would take home to learn to knit. In fact, there was no particularly high technical difficulty in using traditional knitted knitted fabrics, but color matching and flower design were not learned by others. So I did not mind their asking how this pattern was drawn. Instead, they enthusiastically communicated with them. In this process of repetition, on the one hand, they attracted more customers to come to the door. On the other hand, they also promoted my own innovation in acupuncture.

    Reporter: what are some other attempts to open your own store?


    Liu Yihua: in 2002, I came to Beijing to develop, set up a personalized customization studio in Sanlitun, and manually knitted garments for the performing arts circles, and later ran aground due to SARS.

    After that, siliya hired me to be the chief designer. This group is a company specializing in the production of yarn. I saw my works in a competition. They also had the intention to develop their own brand products, so there was such cooperation.

    The company is mainly for the customers in the European and American countries. In the design process, I found that those knitted fabrics with strong traditional Chinese style were especially popular, so they sprouted the idea of making their own brands, because I am still familiar with the climate and living environment of Chongqing, so after 3 years of designer career, in 2008, I chose to go back to Chongqing to make my own brand, and began the "marginal line" customization.


    Reporter: what are the current product categories and what customers are they targeting?


    Liu Yihua: products are mainly focused on scarves, sweaters, creative clothing and household articles, especially for knitted dresses.

    Because manual work is time-consuming and needs to be modified after feedback from guests, the customised guests currently focus on Chongqing and radiate the surrounding areas.

    In addition, foreign customers account for a large proportion.


    Reporter: what are your expectations for the future of registered brand "edge line"?


    Liu Yihua: I still concentrate on the design and creation of the works, hoping that "edge line" can be registered like this.
