Zhejiang Textile And Fashion College: Focus In The Field Of Industry Talent Training

Zhejiang Textile and Fashion College is a state-run full-time college which is engaged in Higher Vocational and technical education. It is sponsored by the Ningbo Municipal People's government, and is the construction unit of Zhejiang demonstrative higher vocational colleges.
One of the predecessors of the college was the Ningbo branch of Zhejiang Institute of technology established in 1979 and the Zhejiang textile industry school established in 1980. Based on this, Zhejiang textile Career Technical College was established in 2000, and Zhejiang textile and light Career Technical College was founded in 2003. The predecessor of the college was the Ningbo garment Career Technical College founded in 1999 and formally established in 2002. In 2004, in order to further optimize the resources of higher education and better serve the development of textile and garment industry in Ningbo and even the whole province, the two higher vocational colleges were merged and set up Zhejiang Textile and Fashion College by the Zhejiang Provincial People's government.
The college is located in the North Higher Education Park of Ningbo, covering an area of nearly 800 mu, with a total value of more than 500 million yuan of fixed assets. The total assets of teaching and research instruments are nearly 80 million yuan. There are more than 1 students in the college, over 600 teachers and staff, 180 senior titles, and 280 teachers with double qualifications. The Institute consists of 11 two level colleges, including textile college, Fashion Institute, art and Design Institute, business school, mechatronics and Track Transportation Institute, information engineering college, humanities college, Yi Si college, adult education college, International College and Training Institute.
The Institute adheres to the school running concept of "industry based, service to the whole province, school enterprise linkage and characteristic development". It persists in serving the regional economic and social development, makes full use of and relies on the development advantages of Zhejiang's textile and garment industry, and constructs a "one wing, two wings" professional pattern with textile, clothing and art as the main body, and telecommunications, economic and trade management as the two wings, supporting each other and coordinating development. There are 34 existing specialties, including 3 provincial key specialties, 4 provincial level demonstrative specialties, 8 provincial characteristic specialties, 4 national excellent courses, 18 provincial top quality courses, 2 training bases with central financial support, 4 provincial-level demonstration training bases, 4 provincial teaching achievement awards, and 12 items of higher education teaching reform in the new century.
