How To Choose When Job Hopping?

    2017/5/9 20:37:00 45

    Job HoppingWorkplace Planning

Now, the job is nameless fourth jobs. There were two times. It was a large-scale job search, and there were two Offer in hand. Finally, none of them had been chosen.

Many people are seeking advice online, choosing A or B. Today, I want to talk about the choice of job hopping.

If you are a pure emotional person and do not want to be sensible when changing jobs, please ignore this article.

Because many people quit because of anger rather than for a better life.

Step one: what do you want?

When someone asks me for a similar question, I always ask this question first: "what do you want, please?" there is no perfect job. We always sort, analyze and compare all choices.

Usually, when I start job hopping, the factors I will consider are:

1, wages and salaries (including bonus, additional insurance, etc.) and

    welfare

(including annual leave, sick leave, etc.)

    2. Boss's character / management style

3, job responsibilities, whether there are new things to learn.

    4, corporate culture

5, labor intensity (need to work overtime often)

    6. Career prospects - is there any possibility of further promotion?

    7. Working environment

    8, industry risk

9, location of the company, the time needed to travel on the road, and the need for frequent business trips.

Wages are usually compared to everyone, but remember to consider whether the bonus is not fixed. If so, take the risk into account.

In addition, the days of annual leave and paid sick leave are very important. It is better to ask in advance.

The difference between paid 10 days per day or 20 days is quite large.

Boss's character: when interviewed, except HR, the boss is usually.

If your boss's style matches you, it may be a very important factor for you to make a final decision.

I remember that there was a survey that showed that the most important reason for job hopping was direct boss rather than salary.

When I was in a German company, the boss did not allow our office to close, or they would break through the door directly.

    While interviewing another European company,

    Interview

The boss knocked on the door for a few seconds before he pushed the door in.

He added a score to the company.

Job responsibilities: is there anything new to learn?

Duplication of previous work should be avoided as much as possible in previous years, although it will be easier to find new jobs, but changing jobs will not increase your value.

For example, if you have worked as an accountant for two years, do not do any receivables in the next job, try to cope with it, cost, general ledger, financial analysis and so on.

It's also important to take a person without a person. If it's all the title of the Accounting Director, it can be really different to really manage two people or to work alone without people.

Most of our career begins with technology, and the more we need to do it, the more skills we need and the less professional skills we need.

For the five to eight years of finance, it's the best way to start looking for opportunities.

Corporate culture: I do not consider Japanese funded enterprises, I am sloppy character, I hope colleagues are equal, mutual respect.

Culture is very important to me.

One of the reasons for my present company is that the group leaders I saw at that time had people of different nationalities, not like German companies, but only Germans.

Labor intensity (whether I need to work overtime frequently): I always think that as a finance, occasionally overtime is normal.

But if you work overtime often, there are two reasons: you have problems or the company has problems.

Your problem may be the ability problem. You are not qualified for the job.

The company may be your problem.

    Boss

The ability problem may also be the cultural dross of the company.

During the interview, I confessed my attitude.

Career prospects: is there any possibility of further promotion? Of course, the position is getting higher and higher, and the space for promotion is getting smaller and smaller.

Then you can consider the possibility of horizontal rotation.

Working environment: I would mind if there is an independent office. Although many companies now advocate the so-called open office area, everyone is working in a completely open environment.

But for me, this will seriously affect my work efficiency.

Industry risk: if you are a high risk person, it doesn't matter.

If you do not want to work unstable, you can consider the industry risk.

The location of the company, the time it takes on the road, the need for frequent business trips, and the need for frequent travel abroad, especially the need for jet lag.

Traveling all year round requires strong physique.

Others: for example, if someone is outgoing and likes dealing with people more often, you can consider whether there are many opportunities for your job responsibilities.

    The second step: sorting

I will choose the factors that need to be considered in my own definition and sort them.

In this process, it is better to discard some of the five to eight items that are most concerned.

For example, five years ago, I might be in such a row.

1, salary (including bonus, extra insurance, etc.) and benefits (including annual leave, sick leave, etc.)

    2. Boss's character / management style

3, labor intensity (need to work overtime often)

    4, industry risk

5, location of the company, the time needed to travel on the road, and the need to travel frequently.

But today, I might be in such a row:

    1, industry risk

    2. Boss's character / management style

3, labor intensity (need to work overtime often)

4, location of the company, the time needed to travel on the road, and the need to travel frequently.

5, salary (including bonus, extra insurance, etc.) and benefits (including annual leave, sick leave, etc.)

The third step: consider the importance, for example:

    1, salary 30%

    2. Boss's character / management style 30%

3, labor intensity (need to work overtime) 20%

    4, industry risk 10%

Location of the company -- the time required to travel on the road; whether frequent travel is required 10%

That is to say, I will add a weighting factor to each factor for my final score.

For example, I pay 80 points for my salary, so that is 24 points in the total score. The company is 40 yuan away from the distance, and the result is 4 points.

Add up each item and you get the total score of every choice.

In this way, you can objectively score every factor you care about most, and compare it to give you the most intuitive result of total score.

Last time I changed my job, the scores of several choices were between 60 and 80, so the total score was not very different.

But by comparison, you can clearly know why you chose A or why you chose B.

Above is the formula I will use for reference only.

(of course) you can also set the total score of the first item directly to 30 points, but that is not so intuitive, because we are more sensitive to the percentage system.

    Here are a few suggestions:

First, never forget that no job hopping is one of the options. When you score, leave a column for this choice.

    Second, choice is happiness.

Although the entanglement of choice is painful, choice is happiness.

Third, try not to fight against war.

I generally don't recommend anyone speaking naked.

The blank will always be asked back and forth on the resume.
