Successful Student Boss Talks About Entrepreneurial Experience
In order to cultivate more hi-tech enterprises and broaden the way of obtaining employment for college students, recently, the Municipal Education Commission and the Municipal Science and Technology Commission jointly launched with other government departments the Shanghai science and technology venture fund, the "seed fund", which invested 50 million yuan a year to support the incubation of University students' scientific and technological achievements and the establishment of enterprises.
This action once again aroused people's curiosity and concern for college students' entrepreneurship. In Shanghai, it is no news for college students to start their own business. Every year, every university will be born with some "entrepreneurial heroes". In the past few years, have these "tide makers", who once led the fashion, worked hard in the market? The reporter invited several successful "student bosses" to talk about their entrepreneurship.
He started his career as a graduate student.
"Please do not publish my full name in the newspaper". In the face of the interview with reporters, Xiao Yu, who founded the first university venture enterprise supported by the venture capital fund, made such a request. In his view, the customer is likely to have a lack of trust in his business because he knows he is "beginning to grow up". Xiao Yu is the executive director of Suzhou Chuang Information Technology Service Co., Ltd., a typical university student venture enterprise, in a team composed of more than 10 people, and 3 students who started business together with him.
The first venture took place on the eve of his graduation. In April 2000, Xiao Yu was going to graduate from Shanghai Jiaotong University industrial enterprise management specialty. At that time, he had received notice of employment from many units. Among them, there were many top 500 enterprises in the world, and the treatment was very good. Just then, the municipal government launched a fund plan to support college students' entrepreneurship. At that time, a friend of the same grade in the electronic engineering department independently developed a set of technology projects called "DSP digital acoustics", which reduced costs through digital signal transmission. There was a certain demand in the civil and industrial markets. Xiao Yu, who had been holding the entrepreneurial idea, hit it off. He set up an entrepreneurial team and applied for the university student venture fund program. Finally, he was fortunate enough to set up the first venture enterprise supported by the venture capital fund. At this point, Xiao Yu's friends may quit because of family, capital, experience, personnel and market. In this way, the first venture ended in flowers and applause. Later, Xiao Yu chose to go straight to graduate school, but he still had his dream of starting an undertaking.
In 2001, when he was a graduate student in grade two, he joined the 5 students who were also in graduate school with the help of city science and technology innovation center. He founded the current cable company and set up the first and only university enterprise in the incubation center of the city science and technology incubator center. At that time, there were no entrepreneurial conditions at school. Xiao Yu became a truly "student boss" through the school student administration and the Xuhui District Bureau of industry and commerce. The company's positioning is mainly international qualification certification training, such as registered financial analysts and registered financial planners. He said that the reason why the industry is chosen is that the training and consulting industry will not invest much in the early stage, and the risk will not be great.
It is difficult to start everything. When Xiao Yu became a boss, he found that it was a tedious thing to start a company: business registration, tax registration, bank account opening, technology enterprise certification, office space decoration and so on. Fortunately, a few entrepreneurs are more united, who do more and less work, and pay no attention too much. They are happiest every day after a busy day, gather in the school canteen, order a few dishes, drink some wine, and exchange ideas for dinner time. As students, they often attend classes in the morning, meet clients in the afternoon, and write reports at night. It's hard, but they all think it's worth it. After all, this is their company.
In the early part of 2003, a sudden lawsuit almost bankrupt the enterprise. At that time, the leader of the Chinese fast food chain, "Yonghe King" sued the company, believed that they had copied their trademark and claimed 220 thousand yuan. It turned out that the website technicians of Xiao Yu company had made mistakes in their work. The content of Yonghe soybean milk was written as "Yonghe King", but the title still used Yonghe soybean milk. This is a competitor of two industries. It has always been incompatible with fire and water. At that time, the company was still in the promotion stage, and the raging "SARS" had left almost all businesses stagnant, and 220 thousand yuan was enough to cross the small business. Xiao Yu did not feel discouraged in his predicament. He hired a lawyer to actively respond. After 4 months of investigation and evidence collection and proceedings, the judge finally decided that Suo Chuang only had to bear the responsibility of network infringement.
