It is one of the basic bases for safeguarding cultural identity and cultural sovereignty.

    In order to make China's traditional culture better inheriting and developing in the home textile industry, the Dunhuang grotto protection research foundation will display the typical decorative patterns selected from Dunhuang grotto art to show its exquisite Dunhuang grotto art, and also make people understand the process of Buddhist art and Its Sinicization.


    Mysterious and charming art of Dunhuang Grottoes


    Exquisite Dunhuang grotto art, as one of the iconic symbols of Chinese traditional culture, has always been the source of inspiration for many designers.


    The art of Dunhuang grottoes, represented by the Mogao Grottoes, has lasted for thousands of years. Its unique artistic form has inherited the local Han Jin tradition, absorbed the styles of the southern and Northern Dynasties and the Tang and Song Dynasties, and accepted, pformed and integrated the artistic styles of India, Central Asia and Western Asia, especially the imaginative methods of creation, such as exaggeration and deformation, and the use of colors. It has irreplaceable artistic value and deserves to be listed in the list of world cultural heritage.


    The figure paintings, landscape paintings, animal paintings, decorative patterns and paintings in Dunhuang Grottoes have a history of 1000 years.

    These patterns are rich in color and brilliant in color. They are epitome of the history of Chinese art in medieval times, and can be called a picture of decorative art.

    According to the decorative position and nature of patterns in grottoes, Dunhuang patterns can be divided into four categories: architecture, clothing, Buddha implements, and general decoration.

    The architectural patterns include the figures, grottoes, caisson, grottoes, and the decoration of the buildings in the grottoes. The costumes are painted on statues and frescoes; the Buddha designs include the Buddhist niches, the Buddha top, the Buddha, the Buddha and the Bodhisattva, and the furnishings for the Buddha; the general decorative patterns are mainly the ribbon ornaments painted between the buildings, murals and all parts.

    "For the home textile industry, we can draw original inspiration from the traditional Dunhuang pattern, especially its exaggeration, deformation, suitability and other methods of creation and use of colors. It is not only the inspiration for our original design of home textiles, but also the source of our home textile style with Chinese characteristics."

    In the past two years, Yang Zhaohua has actively advocated the integration of the cultural connotation of national and cultural home textiles into modern home textile design, forming a distinctive Chinese style.

It is to provide a home textile designer with an opportunity to feel the splendid Chinese traditional culture in a short distance, inspire original inspiration in the perception, and create a new home textile product that is more in line with the modern aesthetic concept."


    It is understood that at present, a group of home textile enterprises such as Hangzhou Lida and Nantong blue silk feather have been actively seeking and developing products of Dunhuang decorative pattern style through various channels.
